How will you support St. Mary's
in truth and action in 2020?
For many years, generations of Christians have learned to be faithful stewards of God's gifts at St. Mary's, formed by the sacramental mystery offered every day here, and in our Savior’s call to love our neighbors—not in word or speech only, but in truth and action. Ministry of worship and service is carried out 365 days a year at St. Mary's. We are able to sustain this ministry because we see ourselves as stewards of all God’s gifts—time, resources, people, energy, and more.
At this time of year, we ask everyone in the parish to consider carefully how you are using the gifts God has given you in your life, and to remember to share with God, through the church, a measure of your gifts: your time, your resources, your energy, even your self. The majority of funding for the mission of St. Mary's comes from the annual pledge support of parishioners like you. We invite you to join in pledging your financial support for St. Mary's in 2020. If you have not done so previously, we ask you to consider making a pledge for the first time this year. If you have pledged before, we encourage you to prayerfully consider your ability to increase your pledge.
Whatever your financial position in life, we hope that you will view stewardship as a meaningful part of your own spiritual practice. We see your pledge as a deep response to Christ’s call to follow him and a desire to further his loving work here in Kansas City.

Bishop Field has accepted St. Mary's parishioner David Wilcox as a postulant for priesthood! Congratulations, David! Please pray for him as he continues his discernment and formation process.
David came to St. Mary's in the Spring of 2015 and was received into the Episcopal Church later that same year. David is a student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he is completing his Bachelor of Arts in History and he plans to begin his Seminary studies in the fall of 2020. David has served on the vestry, and as a delegate to Diocesan Convention. He currently serves as St. Mary's Acolyte Master and as the head of the Evangelism and Outreach Committee. David lives in south Kansas City.

If you would like to suggest yourself or another parishioner for a three-year-term on the governing body of St. Mary's, please submit your suggestion from our website by clicking
here
.
In order to serve on the Vestry, a person must be an adult communicant member and a financial contributor. Other important qualities in a Vestry member include a history of active participation in parish life and ministry and a pattern of personal prayer. Familiarity with business and/or financial processes is often helpful as well.
Suggestions are not nominations, so it is not necessary to get the person’s permission or verify their qualifications. The Nominating Committee will reach out to qualified individuals and finalize a slate of candidates to be presented to the parish at the Annual Meeting to be held at the beginning of next year. This year's Nominating Committee includes Fr. Charles Everson, Ms. Sharon Hunter-Putsch, and Mr. Dennis Robinson.
Please prayerfully consider suggesting yourself or someone else for these important positions in the life of the parish.
Nominations must be received by Friday, December 6, 2019.
