A Prayer As I Put On My Mask:
Creator,
As I prepare to go into the world,
Help me to see the sacrament
In the wearing of this cloth –Let it be “an outward sign Of an inward grace” – A tangible and visible way of living Love for my neighbors,
As I love myself. Christ, Since my lips will be covered, Uncover my heart, That people would see my smile In the crinkles around my eyes. Since my voice may be muffled, Help me to speak clearly,
Not only with my words, But with my actions. Holy Spirit, As the elastic touches my ears, Remind me to listen carefully – And full of care – To all those I meet. May this simple piece of cloth be Shield and banner, And each breath that it holds, Be filled with your love. In your name and In the name of love
I pray. May it be so, May it be so.

A message from our senior warden
|
|
Hello Dear Friends at St. Mary’s –
I want to let St. Mary’s folks know, and anyone else for that matter, who has not completed their census forms, that the deadline is getting close, and it is an important task. Help is available and people should take advantage of it if they have any questions, or if they’ve misplaced forms, or if they’re uncomfortable trying to fill out the forms on their own. Ramona still had about 34% of the population uncounted the last I heard, so we have a way to go. With any luck, that number has gotten smaller, but the goal is to get it to 0!
St. Mary's is having a "Census Day" to encourage all to get counted. You can open the flyer here and get the phone numbers and the information needed to participate in the Census. It is a very important civic duty!
You count to us and we want you counted in the Census.
Stay safe and healthy this week and make sure you are counted!
Peace,
Connie

Dear Parish family and friends,
A prayer of remembrance for 9/11
Gracious God, we remember the lives of all who were lost on September 11, 2001, and the families and friends whose lives have never been the same. We mourn the loss of so many things instigated by this event as we have allowed fear of evil to motivate us more than the creative good of a better future. We seek recovery still from this awful day and we asked that we will find creative ways for the world to be inspired by the full benefit of peace and justice as the ideal conditions to raise the children of the world. Let hope and faith overcome fear and the ignorance of bias which inspires fear. May the mothering touch of Blessed Mary be with us and may Jesus who suffered with us redeem our suffering through providential aftermaths of reconciling blessings. Amen.
Collect for Feast of the Holy Cross, September 14
Almighty God, whose Son our Savior Jesus Christ was lifted high upon the cross that he might draw the whole world to himself: Mercifully grant that we, who glory in the mystery of our redemption, may have grace to take up our cross and follow him; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.
With the wildfires, the social unrest and the continuing devastating deaths and infections of Covid-19, we cannot see purpose in the current suffering. We, from our experience of having survived, exercise our faith in the direction of hope and hold on for some providential aftermaths of some redemptive outcomes of learning to be better at living together and facing the challenges which Nature is posing with seeming greater frequency.
We continue to meet on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. It was good to see people and enjoy time together in the morning in the church courtyard. We will meet again on this Sunday. The Liturgy is. posted on Saturday evening on Youtube so that you have plenty of time to see it either before we meet on Sunday or any other time as well. We receive the Eucharistic bread from the Reserved Sacrament which is why we like to connect the Mass on Youtube with the receiving of the bread on Sunday. We will be looking at plans to begin to meet indoors for short gatherings. When we meet inside, we have to be sure about ventilation and a total recycle of the air within a certain period of time. With inside gathering, airborne infecting agents are a greater risk.
I hope you can view our liturgy this week; Josh will offer a Springsteen piece, "My City in Ruin," as a remembrance anthem for 9/11.
Our "Happy Hour" this week is Sunday on St. Mary's-on-the-Zoom, 5 p.m. I hope you can join us.
Call if you would like to talk.
Blessings and much love,
Father Phil
