Weekly Greetings

Good Morning Everyone –
I think today I decided that orange was my new favorite color! New guidelines from the Diocese have lessened the restrictions on worship gatherings, although I’m fairly certain we will continue meeting outdoors for the beginning of the service and then adjourn indoors for the Eucharist. Easter Sunday was beautiful with close to 30 in attendance. How wonderful to see old friends and once again share in the holiest of worship experiences together.
Kudos go out to Fern Smith who was responsible for the sale of over $300 worth of merchandise from the Amazon returns currently being stored in the Haven. This is the result we had been hoping for, and we can keep our fingers crossed that we will be able to continue to reap the financial benefits for those goods which were supplied by Andrew Simmons.
Here is a beautiful quote from Mother Teresa, and whether we have children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews, or just other special children that we dote on, we can be reassured that we do have a role to play in all their young lives.
You will teach them to fly,
But they will not fly your flight.
You will teach them to live,
But they will not live your life.
Nevertheless, in every flight, in every life, in every dream, the print of the way you taught them will remain. . .
Have a wonderful week my friends – enjoy the sunshine!
Love and Peace,
Connie

Is God calling you to Centering Prayer? Two Opportunities to Explore
The Centering Prayer Group continues to meet, via Zoom, every Monday at 4:30 p.m., ending promptly at 5:45 p.m. Centering Prayer is a method of contemplative prayer in which we rest silently in the presence of God, releasing thoughts and feelings, surrendering ourselves in love to the Divine presence and action in our lives. We do this in silence, with the help of a sacred word or phrase, known only to ourselves. After the 20 minute silence, we typically have a formation period with readings or film, followed by faith sharing and discussion. If you want to know more and are interested in joining, please contact either Deb Lewallen (deborahslewallen@gmail.com) or Cindy Dodson (cindysberrypatch@gmail.com).
A Friday morning Centering Prayer groups has started. The format is the same except that there will be no formation, sharing or discussion. The planned schedule is 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., every Friday. If you are interested, contact Cindy Dodson (cindysberrypatch@gmail.com).

Dear Parish family and friends,
Alleluia Christ is Risen! The Lord is Risen indeed, Alleluia.
I wish everyone the hope and optimism of the Easter Season. May the alleluias of Easter return to our lives with great blessing and joy.
We are grateful to have the freedom to worship again together in person, even with some careful restrictions in place.
Please note my new office hours for the week in the schedule above. I am not limited to these hours as I can arrange to meet you at times which are convenient to your schedules.
The first session of Sacred Ground Circle was blessed. Cindy is facilitating in a way to honor special sharing as we together explore how we have been constituted by the privileges of our lives, often which have not included the experiences which could inform us to have better meaningful empathy with persons of color. We are prayerfully hoping that we can become the "Beloved Community" of people with new insights in understanding and practice of empathy for persons who have different social experiences in our country and world.
We endeavor in this Easter Season to be people who rise from Contemplation of the largesse of a loving God to become Active in making love and justice part of our life practice.
We ask for grace to become a Beloved Community.
Easter Blessings and much love,
Father Phil
