The Women of St. Mary's have set the date of November 22nd as our annual UTO In-Gathering day. Please bring your little blue boxes to Church or you can drop them off at the Office if you cannot get there on the 22cnd. For those that don't know about UTO, it stands for United Thank Offering. Whenever you are thankful for something or feel that a blessing has come to you, you say a prayer in gratitude and drop a coin in your box. This is done at churches all over the country, and by the end of the year millions of dollars are collected at the in-gathering. Individuals and/or groups can apply for Grants to benefit new worthy causes. The grants this year are mainly going to issues from Co-vid, but you can certainly access their website for more info. The grants will be announced in 2021.
In closing, if you would like to participate and do not have a box, they can be obtained in the office or you can contact Sandy Bedard or Gail Voohres, and we may be able to drop one off for you.

Dear Parish family and friends,
This week the Gospel includes the saying of Jesus: "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar and render unto God the things which belong to God." Caesar or any political entity has designated realms of influence for law and order and structure and safety and infrastructure and education and welfare and many other functions which we take for granted. And we are studied complainers for what we think the government is or is not doing for us. I hope that everyone is rendering unto our country their census information and their votes. Churchill said democracy is the worst of all forms of government but it is far better than anything else. Individual egos having checks, means we may have a sinful rebellious streak to any kind of authority, but we know that the system which seeks to involve the most people in the outcome would be the best to forge a participatory common good.
Render unto your country your vote, and your prayers as we seek to continually become our better angels and become a more perfect union equally for all of our citizens.
This week the Bishop committee will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a Zoom Meeting. Wednesday, we will be doing a final review of our study of John's Gospel, before taking on St. Paul's epistle to the Romans. I'm hoping that for the Triduum of All Hallow's Eve, All Saints, All Souls Day we can have a Zoom Virtual Commemoration of our Departed Loved Ones whom we have commended to God's preserving resurrection. Perhaps each family can have photos of loved ones to share in our commemoration on Sunday, November 1st.
I'm hoping that with Josh's help we can present a "Beatles Mass" soon. And it is time to think about how to do Advent and Christmas in virtual ways, like a Pageant and Lessons and Carols and perhaps a Virtual Christmas Eve Mass with some Posada luminaria at the church when persons can come in their cars to receive a Christmas Communion after the Youtube Mass.
The liturgy for Sunday will be posted on Saturday evening on my Youtube Channel. You can go to this channel to review and revisit all of our videoed liturgies. We will be meeting in the courtyard at 9:30 a.m. for greetings, prayers, animals and receiving the reserved Sacrament. At 5 p.m. on Sunday, we will have Zoom Happy Hour to check in with each other and share the joy of relationship in parish.
Call if you would like to talk.
Blessings and much love,
Father Phil
