O
Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon you, and grant that they may know and understand what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to accomplish them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"The negotiation on climate change isn't really between Republicans and Democrats, liberals and conservative. The real negotiation is between human beings and physics. And that's different, because physics doesn't negotiate. It's uninterested in compromise and unimpressed by rhetoric."
--- Bill McKibben, Seven Days, June 21, 2017

Let's Make a New Pictorial Directory!
Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. - Hebrews 13:1
The ministry of welcoming strangers into our midst is crucial to the charge we all have to show hospitality to our brothers and sisters. A pictorial directory not only provides useful information and visual recognition of current members, but also is one of the best tools a church has for integrating new members into the fold!
Starting in the next few weeks, we'll be doing an "in-house" directory - no more outside sales pitches and ugly photo backgrounds! Keep an eye out for the Directory Table in the Narthex during coffee hour to update your contact information. We will have several splendid photographers who will take your photo, or you can email a recent one to our Office Administrator Jennifer Sumner, along with this form if your contact information has changed. With the help of directory making software, we will have a fresh new pictorial directory by October!
We need your correct information to make this a success. Questions? Contact Vieva Grenier at (908) 303-2094, or dornoch2009@gmail.com.

New Locks to be Installed
Scheduled for Mid-August
In an effort to improve access and to increase our safety and security, we will be installing a keypad lock on the downstairs exterior (kitchen) door. The locks on the upstairs exterior (south porch) door will also be changed at this time. If you have a key, it will no longer work on either of these doors. You will need to turn in your key and receive an access code. If you don't have a key but would find access to the Cathedral helpful, you can ask Jennifer Sumner, our Office Administrator, to assign you a key code. We expect this changeover to be completed by mid-August, so it is not too early to request a key code. If you have questions, call the Cathedral office (864-0471).

Budget Requests for 2018 Now Being Accepted
Deadline: August 30, 2017
The vestry is preparing to adopt a first draft of the 2018 budget for the Cathedral. If you would like to submit a request for funding for a specific area of ministry, please contact the cluster chair (see the pink sheet on the Narthex table) that oversees that ministry and put your request in writing to them. They can then submit a request (by August 30) to be considered for the second draft of the 2018 budget which the vestry will consider in September. As you probably know, the final budget is not approved until late 2017, following the annual giving/stewardship campaign. Thank you!

St. Paul's Youth: Voice Your Opinion
An Invitation to Participate in a Documentary Film on Young Adults in Today's Political Climate
Ella Baseman, a student filmmaker, will be in Burlington on Saturday, July 15, and is seeking volunteers who were too young to vote in the 2016 presidential election, but will be eligible in 2020.
"The aim of this documentary is to increase understanding and awareness of different opinions and concerns of young adults in America, especially in such a polarized political climate. I am looking for a broad range of opinions so all people are welcome. I would conduct these interviews in a public space with a small crew. Each interview would take approximately 20 minutes or less, and will be recorded with both video and audio. If a person would like to voice their opinion anonymously, I can accomplish this by not showing their face or any identifying features."
Questions? Contact Ella Baseman at voices2020documentary@gmail.com, or visit the Voices 2020 Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/voices2020.

Cristosal Advocate Program Launches
For anyone interested in becoming further involved with Cristosal, we are launching the Cristosal Advocate program, a nine-week online course about human rights and social justice advocacy in which participants are trained in raising awareness regarding human rights issues, and support of Cristosal's work in particular.
If that is too large an undertaking, people who want to build a relationship with Cristosal are invited to check out our Newsletter, and/or support our work financially.
