Congratulations to our wonderful graduating 8th graders!  
 
Dear St. Thomas Families,   
 
This is our last newsletter for the 2018 - 2019 school year. Please read this newsletter carefully for any detailed information that will affect your family.
 
Grades K-2 are planning their traditional field trip to the Cincinnati Botanical Gardens and Zoo and grades 4-5 will be visiting Frankfort, KY, on Friday, May 24. As a reminder, Monday, May 27 is Memorial Day and there are no classes.  Wednesday, May 28 is our annual Olympic Day. Teachers will send home information regarding the teams and any other instructions for your child for the day. The Olympics will be held outside, beginning with a parade around the school starting at 10:15 am. In the event of rain, activities will be moved indoors. 
 
There will be 10 graduating senior alumni (St. Thomas class of 2015) will join us for lunch on Thursday, May 23. They will be meeting in front of church at 11:15am for a photo and then head to the cafeteria for lunch. The following will be in attendance:  Michael Schriefer, Natalie Huseman, Emma Browning, Warren Naberhaus, Cameron Martin, Julia Bunch, Olivia Ossege, Allison Schmitt, Gabriel Powell and Grant Hemmer.  Thank you to Mrs. Hemmer for organizing the luncheon.
 
Our 8th grade will celebrate their graduation Mass at 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 28. All are welcome to attend as we wish them well in their high school career. Wednesday, May 29 is the last day of school for the remainder of the students. We will celebrate our end of year all school Mass beginning at 10:00 am.  
The Awards Ceremony this year will be held in the gym.  The schedule is:
                   8:10 - 8:50 am - Kindergarten through 3rd Grades
                 9:00 - 9:45 am - 4th through 7th Grades
                 10:00 am - Students will proceed to church for Mass
                 Students will be dismissed from school following Mass. 
 
Please note that final report cards will be distributed to the students on the last day of school.   You must be up-to-date on your tuition to receive a report card. If you have any questions regarding your tuition, please contact Judy Osburg in the Rectory office at  ( 859) 441-1282.
 
The 2nd grade class would like to thank everyone who participated in our service learning project. With your generous donations to be out of uniform on Tuesday, we raised $531 to be given to the statue of General Thomas. Mr. Bob Heil visited the class today to show them pictures and tell them more about General Thomas and the statue. The final statue will be placed at the entrance in the fort next Memorial Day weekend 2020. Thank you again for all of your support.
 
 The 4th grade winners of the step challenge against Mrs. Olliges, won a pizza party and free gym. They picked dodgeball and had a great time.
 
St. Thomas School Seventh Annual Art and Talent Show,  "I Can Only Imagineon Friday, May 17 was a great success.   St. Thomas has so much talent! 
 
The winners of the various art awards are:    Principal Award: Elizabeth Roderick, Parish Award: Trevor Brown, Secretary Award: Anna Griffith, Primary Awards: Salem Glasgow & Alexis Stamates, Intermediate Awards: Owen Kennedy & Jason Frisk, Junior High Awards: Amanda Mackison & Polly Gold .
 
The 7th and 8th grade girls sing "Our Song" by Taylor Swift.

2019-2020 Registration
Don't forget that now is the time to register your child(ren) to reserve their spot for the 2019-2020 school year. Please feel free to contact the office if you need a registration form or have any questions regarding this process.
CAFETERIA NEWS
Check your students K-12 Payment lunch account balance. You MUST have a positive or zero balance for the end of the year for all returning students. 
Vacation 
Bible School
June 3 - June 7
 
Vacation Bible School will run June 3-June 7 in the St. Thomas Cafeteria from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. The program is open to children ages 4 years to rising 3rd graders. Registration can be downloaded from the school website and will be included in the Wednesday folder.    Service hours available for Jr. High students.
