Dear St. Thomas Families,

We continue to celebrate!

Mrs. Simons, 2nd grade teacher, was inducted into the Newport Central Catholic 2019 Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 16th.

While attending NCC, Mrs. Simons participated in one year of softball, one year of basketball, three years of track, and four years of volleyball.  During her senior year, the volleyball team made it to the state tournament. That same year, she qualified for state in track in two individual hurdle races and one relay race.  She received numerous awards while playing volleyball and running track.  After high school, she continued to play volleyball at NKU on a volleyball scholarship. Congratulations, Mrs. Simons!

The 4th grade students created pop can lamps under the direction of 4-H staff last week. The exercise allowed the students to learn about the time and material required to create their lamp. Students entered the gym at the end of the day with smiles with their finished product. Great job 4th grade!
