Dear St. Thomas Families,

On January 11, the 5th and 8th grade students attended the TEN80/SEMA STEM Custom Car Experience Cincinnati, at the Cavalcade of Customs/Duke Energy Convention Center. During this field trip, the students participated in Team Trivia related to the automotive industry. Their task was to design, re-design a full-sized steering wheel, and visited the Auto Exhibit. The students worked with a spreadsheet and a budget to create a customization option or vehicle to present a 'pitch' to a panel of judges. One of the 5th grade teams were voted as having the best pitch for the judges. It was a great experience.

Congratulations to our 8th grade and PREP students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Monday,     January 14th. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide you through your journey.

Report cards for the 2nd quarter will be available online on Friday, January 18 through Sycamore Education.

Catholic Schools Week begins next Sunday,    January 27 .  This is an opportunity to showcase the many wonderful things we do as a school and a school community.

St Thomas School provides a faith-filled, family oriented atmosphere with small class sizes. Our teachers provide a student-centered approach to instruction effectively addressing the needs of the diverse learning needs of their students. Tools such as interactive whiteboard technology in all the classrooms, and two computer labs, allow technology to be infused in all curricular areas and across all the grade levels.

Learning at St. Thomas is not just restricted to the traditional classroom environment. Service learning is a large part of the St. Thomas experience and is informed by our faith. We have been recognized as a Service Learning School of Contribution for eleven years. All students from Pre-K through Grade 8 participate in at least one service project each year. These service projects are student driven and tied to the curriculum.

Our very active Booster Club makes it possible for St. Thomas to provide athletic opportunities in basketball, soccer, volleyball, golf and cross country for nearly all students.   Other extracurricular activities include Student Council, Academic Team, Robotic Team, Scouts, Spirit, Chess and Art Clubs. Our dynamic Mothers' Club provides volunteers and financial support to the school making additional enrichment such as field trips a reality for all students.

Additionally, if you know a prospective family, neighbor, family member, etc. (who would not be on the parish mailing list), please email their name/info to the school secretary at secretary@sttschool.org so we can send them a personal invitation.
