Catholic Schools Week   begins on Sunday, January 27th, with Open House scheduled from 11:30am to 2:30pm and the beginning of open registration for Preschool to the 8thGrades for the 2019-2020 school year.  Unable to attend the "Open House" and interested in a tour of St. Thomas school, contact the school office at 859-572-4641   to schedule a tour or visit our website for the registration forms.   Please reference the detailed calendar below and in the Wednesday folder for specific activity for each day during this special week of celebrating Catholic education! 
Beginning Sunday, January 27th through Wednesday, January 30th is our Scholastic Book Fair.  All purchases benefit the school library.  Books can be donated to the library, and/or your student classroom. 
On Saturday, January 19th, the St. Thomas Varsity Academic Team competed in Governor's Cup Districts at Bellevue pulling a runner-up trophy.  Students competed in various subject area written assessments and quick recall.
Below are their placements at District.  These individuals will continue at the Regional competition on February 2nd .

Service learning   is a large part of the St. Thomas experience and is informed by our faith. We have been recognized as a Service Learning School of Contribution for twelve years. All students from Pre-K through Grade 8 participate in at least one service project each year. These service projects are student driven and tied to the curriculum.

Catholic Schools Week is a week in the school year that we are excited to celebrate our Catholic faith. This special week is filled with fun activities dedicating each day to a different group that makes St. Thomas "Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed." Please look in the Wednesday folder for a more detailed list, but here is an overview of the week. 
Sunday, January 27th  ~ Open House from 11:30-2:30
Monday, January 28th  ~ Day of Faith: Prayer Service and Living Rosary
Tuesday, January 29th  ~ Parent Appreciation Day: No homework, school wide BINGO
Wednesday, January 30  ~ Student Appreciation Day: No homework, Out of uniform, Board games & electronics can be brought in, Parents bring in lunch, Students get watch a movie & have a snack
Thursday, January 31 ~ Community Appreciation Day: Kids can Dress for Success, pizza delivered to community groups and business that support STS
Friday, February 1st ~ Teacher Appreciation Day: Teacher Luncheon, 8th grade vs Teachers volleyball game and early dismissal
The Book Fair  will be open Sunday - Wednesday. Look for details in the Wednesday folder from Mrs. Erickson.
Lost and Found
Make sure to check out the Lost and Found. We have a box and rack that is over flowing with things. Many articles of clothing have been left in the gym during practices and tournaments.   

For closures and delays, information will  be sent through Sycamore Education in a 
form of a text,  or voice message.
In addition,announcements can be heard  on Channels 5, 9, 12 and 19.
