It's hard to believe that spring sprung in February. Before the month even wrapped up, the flowering trees in the area had bloomed white and pink and gangs of daffodils had popped up in their close-knit clusters. Friends keep saying, "I hope it doesn't frost." We hope so, too! But so far, the temperatures have stayed warm. Dan and his groundskeeping crew have taken advantage of the weather to do some early landscaping on the property. They've planted holly tress in front of and beside the Lodge and a row of evergreens along the road that leads back to most of our cabins. Before too long, it'll be time to plant flowers in our flowerbeds.

Here's to a mild and early spring, and a good season for all!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Mackowski

A Look Back at Our Bridal Open House themed "Be Our Guest"
In late February, Stevenson Ridge hosted our 2017 Bridal Open House. Twenty-four vendors joined us to share off their skills, and all ten of our historic cottages were available to tour. In the Riddick House, our wedding coordinators created a 1950s diner theme.
The Ridge Featured in Regional Travel Magazine
The February 2017 issue of Recreation News featured a story about Stevenson Ridge. Recreation News touts itself as the largest monthly travel magazine in the mid-Atlantic.

"History lovers visiting the Fredericksburg area will revel in the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere in the unique accommodations offered at Stevenson Ridge," the magazine said. For a look at the full issue, click here.

Sipping Spring
As part of the bar packages we offer for weddings and special events, we're introducing a taste of spring--in fact, three new tastes! Wedding coordinator Bettina Theilacker developed these seasonal signature drinks for spring:

Lavender Lemonade: lavender-infused simple syrup, lemonade vodka, topped with sprite

Elderflower Bellini: apple juice, elderflower liqueur, sparkling wine

Belmont Jewel: bourbon, lemonade, pomegranate juice
