NOVEMBER HORSE VISIT RECAP
           November 29, 2013

Hi Partners,

Our November horse visit last Friday was attended by nearly 40 partners and while it was our usual opportunity to watch our horses work and socialize with them, it was also a send off for some of our racers as the seasoned horses head back to the racetrack this week, and the youngsters are about to begin their careers and will be following soon.

For Sunshine Racing Stable it all begins with babies, and I got some pictures of QUEENS ARE WILD'S filly, and the colts out of WAVERLY and ROCKET being led from their paddocks to the barn.

Our three soon to be yearlings stood at the gate, waiting for Rhonda and Colleen to fetch them.

WAVERLY'S Colt "RUDY 2"                           ROCKET'S colt "LITTLE ROCKET"

The two colts were led out first and the filly stood patiently until they returned to lead her out.  I was surprised at how calm and maturely these babies walked with their handlers.  Quite an improvement from when I saw them last month!

All three gave me their attention as they heard the shutter snapping and saw me standing off to the side, making it easy to get pictures.

SAINT ABBEY and  WE WANT REVENGE were the only two "adults" who were not going to the track, so they came out to greet the partners.

ABBEY stood at attention waiting for pictures to be taken and then she was surrounded by partners petting her and offering carrots.  Our horses are so used to this attention that they seem to look forward to our visits!

Next WE WANT REVENGE met her fans and then was turned out in her paddock.  No bucking show this month, but she did show off running back and forth.

TSUNAMI WAVE led the others from the barn, noticing the partners and going over to see them.

Next PLAY IT STRAIGHT and PRICKLY PEAR followed TSUNAMI as they made their way to the track.

TSUNAMI was the first to breeze,

followed by PEAR
and then PLAY

SOUP DeVILLE breezed past me so fast I missed him in action! (OK, to tell the truth, there were so many horses on the track at the same time that I "shot" a different chestnut!)  Here's our SOUP after his breeze.

Next on the track were DUDE ABOUT TOWN and DYNAFIRE.  These two looked great and like they're just about ready to head to Tampa to begin their careers!

After working they came past the partners in the viewing stand, looking quite pleased with themselves!

And finally, making his debut on the racetrack, GRAND BARGAIN (RUDY) appeared!

The visit was winding down and I took one last opportunity to photograph
PRICKLY PEAR

          and PLAY IT STRAIGHT,

both heading to Gulfstream

Then TSUNAMI WAVE

           and SOUP DeVILLE

 heading to Tampa Bay Downs.

So it was a bittersweet ending saying goodbye to my 4 legged friends and having a very exciting day end.  Next up is meeting at the racetrack and cheering for our horses!

Don't forget our next horse visit - December 27th.

Merry Christmas everyone!
