Read what fellow Berry Believers have to say:
After suffering with ankle pain caused by joint problems and a bone bruise for 10 years, this is what Ryan had to say: "It's only been a month since I started eating them (aroniaberries), but my ankles started feeling better within a few days. Before I couldn't walk more than a couple blocks. Now I'm starting to think I might be able to try jogging again. They (my ankles) are less swollen as well. I saw my MRI results. It's hard to believe that these berries can actually be healing the damage that I saw, but that is exactly what I feel is happening."

Aroniaberries after exercise
When exercising, our bodies are in an elevated metabolic state. According to a study by Priscilla Clarkson of the University of Massachusetts, this increases the production of free radicals in the body. The reason, during exercise our body requires more fuel. Carbohydrates and fats, our two main fuel sources convert into energy during exercise. This process is called oxidation. During oxidation, oxygen atoms bind with hydrogen, but not all oxygen atoms find a hydrogen atom. These unpaired molecules turn into free radicals.
Antioxidants like the Aroniaberry (chokeberry) halt the formation of free radicals by sharing the missing electron and restoring the stability of the cell. According to the Clarkson's study, individuals who exercise sporadically are more susceptible to oxidative stress. Weekend warriors can cause more oxidative damage than someone who exercises on a regular basis.
Additional research shows that antioxidants can help with the oxidative stress that occurs after exercise. Chokeberry, A Clinical Perspective, report by Dimitri Papadimitrious, Ph.D., features a research trial that found a reduction in oxidative markers after administration of Aroniaberry juice (23 mg anthocyanins/100mL) to athletes after completion of strenuous exercise and after a 24-hour recovery period.

"Aroniaberry Patch" comes to Lauritzen Gardens
| Frank Deloa and Ralph Pulte |
As part of Aroniaberry Month Celebration Superberries donated eight Aroniaberry plants to Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha's Botanical Center. At a special planting ceremony in the Garden in the Glen, Superberries Frank Deloa, Jr. and Lauritzen Gardens Director of Horticulture Ralph Pulte planted the Aroniaberry bushes.
Superberries also had a table at the Garden's Spring-to-Spring Celebration and Plant Sale. The Superberries team handed out product samples and also hosted a drawing for Aroniaberry bushes.
The Aroniaberry bush can grow to be about 3 ft. wide and 10 ft. tall. It takes 2 to 3 years for the bush to produce berries. In the spring a stunning light pink blossom develops. By summers end, a dark purple berry ripens for harvest. The bush turns a deep orange in the fall. The Aroniaberry bush is native to North America and has gained attention because of its high level of antioxidants and its health and wellness benefits.
