Here at the Teen Reach 'world headquarters' we are preparing for an amazing year of camps and mentoring programs for youth in foster care. Thank you for all you do to help make it happen!

Here are some updates and prayer requests:

We had a very effective national leadership training weekend in January. We are excited about the plans for leadership development and program growth. We now have national directors developing, training and sustaining the adventure camp programs, mentoring programs and the T.R.A.C. Challenge Course programs. Please pray for our national directors and staff.

Angela Prusia, National Director of T.R.A.C.life mentoring programs and Serena Howell just finished training six new teams to start mentoring programs for youth. This is an all-year-around program that Angela is doing an excellent job of expanding. Please pray for these new programs to launch this year and for each leader trained.

Scott and Sara Nachtigal, our Teen Reach National Challenge Course Directors, are heading into National Challenge Course trainings in Missouri, Nebraska and Oregon. Please pray for the challenge courses at each T.R.A.C. and that each facilitator and teen would be safe.

Please pray for Teen Reach (T.R.A.C. and T.R.A.C. life) leadership starting to meet across the globe and the youth who will attend camps and mentoring programs this year.

I am reminded today of a conversation I had with one of our T.R.A.C. kids who is now grown up and has graduated from college. She said, "Serena, T.R.A.C. saved my life. I am not being dramatic when I say this. Every time camp ended I would say to myself, 'I just need to make it to the next camp."

We cannot reach teens in foster care without you.
Thank you for partnering with us.

Crunchy Yogurt-Granola Upside-Down Cake

Ingredients
  • 2/3 cup butter, divided
  • 1/3 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granola
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup
  • granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup plain fat-free Greek yogurt
  •  1 1/2 teaspoons grated orange zest
  •  1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees . Place half of the butter in a 9-inch round cake pan. Place pan in oven for 5 minutes or until butter melts. Remove pan from oven. Add coconut, brown sugar, granola and walnuts; stir to mix thoroughly. Spread evenly in pan. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. Melt remaining 1/3 cup butter; cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, egg, granulated sugar, yogurt, orange zest and vanilla; stir until smooth. Stir in flour mixture just until combined. Gently spread batter over granola mixture in pan.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Loosen cake from sides of pan. Invert onto a serving plate. Replace any topping that sticks in pan. Serve warm or cool.
