Annual Membership Campaign
is Underway!
Why is The Arc of Chemung’s Annual Membership Campaign
So Important?
Membership provides our agency the ability to advocate legislatively at the state level. Our agency continues to face enormous challenges given the current economic climate of our state and nation.

Your support and inclusion in the agency helps people with disabilities become more independent, productive and integrated in our local community. Without your help, there is less opportunity for personal growth and achievement.
We are grateful for every gift we receive and know you want to make sure your generosity does as much good as possible. You make our work possible!
Click the button above to enroll in The Arc of Chemung’s Annual Membership Campaign. You can also enroll by mailing in a membership form or by contacting 607.734.6151 ext. 129.

Celebrating Employment Success
Ryan expressed an interest in working in a food service/restaurant setting and through the Pathway to Employment (P2E) program, and with the support of his job coach, he participated in a 20-hour work experience at the Wellsburg Diner. Ryan enjoyed busing tables, dish washing and other duties that support the operation of this business. Ryan related well to the wait staff, and other employees, and found this to be a very welcoming and supportive work environment.

Ryan has taken the skills he learned and is putting them to use, taking on a great deal of responsibility with is new position. Every day, he: fills the vending machine; stocks beverages, salad dressings, and condiments; takes care of all the dishes; serves up soup; waits on the customers and takes orders in-person, from the computer, and on the phone; and cashes out customers on the register.

Ryan works with different co-workers each day and is definitely part of the team. Co-workers speak highly of Ryan and are happy to have him as part of the team.

Way to go Ryan; keep up the good work and positive attitude!
The Pathway to Employment program is a wrap-around service which offers the individuals we support exposure, experience, and informed choices about competitive employment opportunities in our community.
Since completing the Pathway to Employment program, Ryan has found employment at the Triple R Café, located at the Elmira Psychiatric Center.
If you’re a business and would like to offer an individual the opportunity to shadow, volunteer, or work, please let us know by contacting Diane at 607.734.6151 ext. 164 or MarshallDR@arcofchemung.org.
