Have Art, Will Travel!
Congratulations to John D, mixed media artist and resident of The Boston Home, who recently traveled to Rhode Island to exhibit his paintings at the Pawtucket Arts Fest! Pawtucket Arts Fest celebrates creativity and culture with exciting events throughout the city, including open studios, galleries, interactive crafting, exhibits and live performances.
Having had a very successful weekend of art sales, John has generously chosen to donate a portion of his sales to plan a special celebratory cocktail hour for his fellow residents with the Activities team.
The Boston Home Launches Virtual MS Clinic
On Thursday, September 30th, The Boston Home launched its first Virtual MS Clinic in partnership with Mass General Brigham. The project, which has been collaboratively planned over the past year, allows residents who are patients of Mass General Brigham clinicians to meet with their doctors via telehealth appointments. Among the many benefits of the Virtual MS Clinic is the ability for approved caregiving staff or family members to participate in the appointment when appropriate, as well as eliminating the often substantial inconvenience of travel to the routine appointments for residents. Alex Burnham, Director of The Boston Home Institute and Rehabilitation Services, anticipates that that the project will lead to improved communication for residents and their healthcare providers.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Volunteers Beautify The Boston Home
Each September, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) hosts a state-wide Service Day. Thousands of BCBSMA employees visit nonprofit organizations across Massachusetts to lend a hand to special projects.

The Boston Home is honored to be a BCBSMA Service Day partner since 2019. This year our team of volunteers focused on sprucing up our beloved garden for fall, with an end-of-season clean-up and planting of dahlias, asters, mums, sedums and kales. Thank you BCBSA for including our community in #ServiceDay2021!
