Announcing Consult Café!
We love supporting the important work of nonprofits. We're taking that commitment one step further on March 6, when we partner with Babson College and the Mass. Nonprofit Network, to present Consult Café. Designed specifically for nonprofits seeking help with marketing, PR, social media and event planning, this first-of-its-kind event will feature a panel discussion moderated by WGBH reporter Tina Martin. It will also include roundtable sessions with subject matter experts. Applications are due by January 25. To apply, click here

Castle VP Philip Hauserman will be discussing best practices for managing donor controversies at an upcoming workshop of the Georgia Independent School Association. He will be co-presenting with Jeff Jowdy and Karen Kemp of Lighthouse Counsel , a strategic planning and fundraising consultancy with offices in Atlanta and Nashville.

Our events team recently designed and executed a two-day healthcare summit for a Cambridge-based industry-leading IT company, an exclusive sales incentive program in Half Moon Bay, California, for a global IT company, and a three-day conference in Bucharest, Romania, for the Public Relations Global Network, our international network of independent public relations firms.

We partnered with the UMass Boston Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy to plan and manage its 3rd Biennial New England Women's Policy Conference. The event focused on creating economic security for women and their families, and included speakers  Tarana Burke, founder of the #MeToo Movement and social justice activist, and Tania Del Rio, executive director, Mayor's Office of Women's Advancement.

Our team also managed the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Massachusetts annual meeting at the Seaport Hotel in Boston.
Senior Event Manager 
Callie Cleary is now a Certified Meeting Professional. The CMP credential is recognized globally as the badge of excellence in the events industry; qualifications for certification are based on professional experience, education and exam results.

Amanda Albert has been promoted to account executive, her second promotion since joining Castle in 2017.

Sandy Lish inducted into Women's Business Enterprise Hall of Fame!
As a women-owned business that has thrived for 22 years, we are incredibly proud of Sandy for her recent induction into the American Institute of Diversity & Commerce Women's Business Enterprise Hall of Fame. At the induction ceremony, which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dallas, Sandy was also honored with the T railblazer Award for her outstanding l eadership and achievement and ongoing support and encouragement of women in business She was one of eight honorees in the 2018 class, which included leaders from The Coca-Cola Co., Chevron, Johnson & Johnson, and Robert Half International. 

The WBE Hall of Fame is a nonprofit that recognizes the contributions of women entrepreneurs in their communities, as well as their accomplishments within their industries. Through a network of women's business development organizations, corporate and government advocates and women-owned enterprises, the WBE Hall of Fame spotlights best practices and insights, as women create businesses that help build a stronger economy.

Since founding Castle in 1996, Sandy, Wendy and our team have received numerous awards and recognition for our work with clients and the community, but it's especially rewarding to be nationally recognized for setting an example for women in business.

Speaking of women entrepreneurs, for the third year in a row, Sandy emceed the 2018 Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE) Women Business Leaders Conference. Attendees included hundreds of entrepreneurs, as well as corporate supplier diversity and purchasing professionals from leading companies including Boston Scientific, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mass., Keds Shoes and CVS Health. Michael R. Jaff, DO, president of Newton-Wellesley Hospital, was  recognized by Becker's Hospital Review's in its 2018 edition of  112 physician leaders of hospitals and health systems to know . In addition, Dr. Jaff served as was a panelist at Bisnow's National Healthcare East Conference, where he discussed  innovation and expansion in healthcare.

South Shore Health System  ensured that its tiniest patients were able to celebrate Halloween while in the NICU. NBC, and The Patriot Ledger shared photos and videos of the newborns in their custom-made costumes. South Shore Health System and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mass. announced a first-of-its-kind program to help identify new models for managing and ultimately lowering total medical expenses.
Brown Advisory  was recognized by the Boston Business Journal for taking the lead on hiring and growth in financial services. Dune Thorne, head of Brown Advisory's  Boston office, also spoke with SiriusXM Business Radio's "Dollars and Change." She discussed her work to advance women's leadership, both at Brown Advisory and through Invest In Girls, a nonprofit organization she founded to educate girls about careers in finance.

On Giving Tuesday, Forbes profiled  The Cummings Foundation and Cummings Properties'  Bill Cummings , who recently published his book, "Starting Small and Making it Big." Bill also appeared on Bloomberg Radio, where he discussed his approach to philanthropy and how his book aims to inspire entrepreneurship and generosity in others. 

The Boston Globe covered the Eos Foundation's "Women's Power Gap in Higher Education Study and Report Card."

The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) 20th Annual Inner City 100, a listing of the fastest-growing urban companies in the United States, was published in Fortune CEO Steve Grossman elaborated on the importance and impact of inner city businesses in a Boston Globe op-edas well as on NECN's "DC Dialogue."

Parenting Journey named former state representative Marie St. Fleur its second Social and Family Justice Fellow. She will guide the organization's public policy and civic engagement building partnerships through February 2019.

March of Dimes teamed up with the Boston Bruins to host a surprise baby shower for more than 50 military families. The moms-to-be mingled with the Bruins' wives and girlfriends, received the latest pregnancy and newborn health information from the March of Dimes Mission Healthy Baby program, and received baby supplies and strollers courtesy of the Boston Bruins, March of Dimes, Philips and UPPAbaby. The annual event was featured on WHDH-TV 7 News, WBZ Radio News and in the Boston Herald.

College of Saint Rose  President Carolyn J. Stefanco shared her thoughts about how Saint Rose helps first-generation students succeed in a byliner for eCampus News President Stefanco also penned a letter to first-generation college students in Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. In addition, she recently contributed a chapter to "Women's Leadership Journeys: Stories, Research, and Novel Perspectives," a collection of research findings and stories intended to help women along their paths to obtaining leadership positions.

Congratulations to Boston Arts Academy (BAA), Boston's only public high school for visual and performing arts, on the recent groundbreaking for its new building on Ipswich Street, across from Fenway Park. The event featured remarks from Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, Massachusetts State Treasurer Deb Goldberg, BAA Headmaster Anne Clark, and Emerson College President and BAA Foundation Board Chair Lee Pelton. Sandy  discussed strategies for managing harassment and discrimination crises in the #MeToo era at the  Mass. Lawyers Weekly   Crisis Management Conference  at  Suffolk University Law School . She co-presented with Gareth Notis of  Morrison Mahoney  and Gregg Rubenstein of  Beacon Health Options . The presentation can be seen in its entirety  here .
