Our Mission:
Supporting lifelong faith formation in the home and congregation.

From the President's Desk

Dear friends,

It was just a few days ago that we proclaimed: Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! At our congregation we celebrated with an adult and three children who were baptized, 6 children who received their first Holy Communion, and two families officially joined in membership. It was a very holy and blessed week.

Upon reflection, I realized my prayers have been focused more on the tragedies; a four-year-old diagnosed with cholesteatoma much worse than first thought; a 22 year-old who died when his car struck another car head on (both drivers friends of my two daughters); a colleague who shared that he had been a victim of workplace bullying; and other colleagues who struggle in unhealthy congregations.

And still we proclaim: Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!

That is the Good News! We are Easter people. We know all too well that bad things happen, things over which we have no control. But, as Easter people, we know the rest of the story. We know that Christ came to defeat death and the devil. We know that we are called to be a voice of love and peace in the midst of the tragedies and the celebrations. And we know, all too well, the toll that such love poured out costs. It cost Christ his life for us. It costs us as we serve and minister in our local contexts.

So my prayer for you in these few days between Easter and Confirmation, Sunday School appreciations, graduations and VBS, is that you make time to sit and bask in the love and joy of Christ. Rest in God's presence. Proclaim Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Then continue your call... make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19b-20

Easter blessings and joy!

Resources

Adult Ministry

Milestones happen to people throughout life. And throughout life adults need occasions to be reminded of and supported in their lifelong faith formation. These 12 Adult Milestone Modules do just that.  Each Adult Milestone module consists of a design that can be used in three different settings: Cross+Generational, the Home, and follow-up for both. There are also tips for planning, a Worship Blessing that can be done during worship, and outreach suggestions. Check out the 12 Adult Milestones here.

Technology for Ministry

Kids can make beautiful works of art using the name of Jesus in many languages found on Google Drive. Kids will love seeing and making letters from different languages.  When we use the name Jesus in our own language we are confessing that God is with us. When we appreciate and use the name of Jesus in other languages, we are confessing that God is with the speakers of that language too. Free download. Check it out here.

Almighty God, by our baptism into the death and resurrection of Jesus, you turn us from our sin. Grant that we who are reborn to new life in Christ may live in righteousness and holiness all our days.
