Dear Cupboard Volunteer,

We are excited about the High Holidays!
If you haven’t already, please consider signing up to deliver high holiday gift bags and groceries to our clients between Tuesday and Friday next week. You can sign up online here: Volunteer Registration
or call us at 954-530-7555. We could also use regular warehouse operations volunteers for client calls, packing orders, etc.

Can you believe we are celebrating our first anniversary?
We invite you to stop by our open house on September 14 from 10 a.m.-1p.m. and help us TURN ORANGE for National Hunger Awareness Month.
The Cupboard Welcomes Two New Employees:

Gabe Deutsch is our new Warehouse Associate. He previously worked in Chicago with NCSY (formerly known as the National Conference of Synagogue Youth) an Orthodox Jewish youth group sponsored by the Orthodox Union. He was handling programing, concept ideas, organization and post event activities. Gabe is also very involved with the Young Leadership of the Jewish Federation in Broward.

Cristina Martinez is our new Volunteer Coordinator. She is a well-rounded marketing and public relations professional with 15 years experience developing communications programs, community relations strategies and events in for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

If you are new to our volunteer team, consider joining our Facebook group at

This Fall, we will start experimenting with group texts in order to garner help with new client deliveries, as well as share food rescue opportunities all over Broward.

As always, if you have any ideas or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly by phone or email me at .
Thank you for your continued support in helping to wipe out hunger in the Jewish community in Broward.

L’ Shana Tova!
Stephanie Silverman Houser
Director, The Cupboard
We are closed on the following days in September and October for holidays!
September 10, 11, 19, 24, 25; October 1, 2
We will close early on September 18.
We want to thank you, our amazing volunteers, for everything you do! Without your compassion, dedication and hard work, The Cupboard would not exist. Here is a testimonial from one of our passionate volunteers, Valerie. She and her peers from the Young Leadership Division of Jewish Federation of North America assisted The Cupboard in packing hurricane supplies. Their efforts helped us prepare supplies to be distributed to South Florida families in the event of a storm.
