Looking up in the distance I could see a large crowd beginning to form under a light pole. Now faced with a dilemma – do I continue my morning jaunt on the trajectory toward the curious or divert in another direction? Mission Thursday:

Mission amid Challenges of Israel-Hamas War

The challenges of mission amid the war that has erupted between Hamas in Gaza and the state of Israel will be the focus of the Nov. 16 Mission Thursday sponsored by the Global Episcopal Mission Network (GEMN). Veteran's Day Weekend Event at St. John's, Montgomery

St. John's Episcopal Church of Montgomery, Alabama, (113 Madison Avenue) will be having its annual "Poppy Sunday" (known as "Remembrance Sunday" in Britain) on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Regular services will be at 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. A special liturgy for healing and remembrance will be held at 10:15 a.m. in the St. John's labyrinth garden, where hundreds of ceramic poppies from The Alabama Poppy Project will be installed. All participants at any of the 11/12/2023 services will be provided a paper poppy ("Buddy Poppy") from the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 96. All are invited.

30th Annual Lobsterfest

Saturday, November 11, 10am - 6pm. 

In addition to food, we will have live music (including sets from The Rev. Donavan Cain and The Rev. Worth Stuart), an artisan fair, and free children's activities. The proceeds will benefit First Stop, a nonprofit that encounters and assists the homeless in the Huntsville area, and our Honduran Medical and Educational Mission. Come help us shell-abrate 30 years of fellowship, hospitality, and outreach!

Annual Fall Bazaar – November 11

St. James Episcopal Church will host its annual bazaar from 9 a.m. to noon. The bazaar will feature a variety of homemade goodies including cakes, casseroles, soups, and other kitchen creations; crafts; and pottery. St. James parishioners work year-round to create the treasures available at the Bazaar. All proceeds benefit local community outreach programs.
