There was a heavy mist in the air, its dampness was cold upon my cheeks…the only skin that was exposed. Everything in me wanted to stay in the warm cocoon of my bed, yet that little voice in my head whispered, “In the end you’ll be glad.” In the deep chill of this moment the internal debate about the wisdom of this early morning bike ride was at a fever pitch!

Monday, July 24 at 4:30pm to Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10:00am
This event, last held in 2019, is a diocesan-wide service week in Birmingham for youth entering 7th-9th grades. We partner with Urban Ministries for hands-on experience scraping and painting houses for people in the area who cannot afford to pay for this work to be done, and have program and sleep at St. Stephen's Church. Adult staff (college, young adult, or youth minister) and CITs (11th-12th grade youth) are also needed. Adult staff who chaperone overnight will be paid a small stipend.

We are celebrating by inviting everyone to Camp McDowell from May 26-28th for many fun activities. This is the same weekend as Primary 1 and we will be joining them for an epic Pasture Party on Saturday night and a celebratory closing church service on Sunday morning.
This weekend will be an amazing opportunity to connect with old and new camp friends, and reminiscence about your Camp McDowell memories while making new ones. We are offering many different registration options for those who want day passes as well as those who would like to come for the whole weekend.
