The Episcopal Dioceses of Alabama and Maine are partnering to offer this unique Sacred Ground experience: one that is shared across geographic areas and communities, and across lived experiences.

Our two dioceses have different experiences with race, both historically and in the present, and our hope is that collaboration in shared Sacred Ground circles will offer opportunities for deeper reflection through expanded perspective, and ultimately for healing.

  • The bi-weekly meetings begin the week of October 16 and continue through week of March 18
  • No meetings the week of Christmas or New Year's
  • There will be two meeting options to choose from - Mondays or Thursdays

Please join us for a series on the "Intersection of Science and Religion", led by

The Rev. Rob Morpeth

9:15am, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church

Six Consecutive Sundays

We are privileged to present six sessions lead by The Rev. Rob Morpeth on the intersection of Science and Religion. These lessons present a fine, intellectually sound series of very timely topics and will certainly produce lively discussions.

For a schedule of classes and topics click here.

From Fr. Morpeth: “We affirm in our Creed that God is the Creator and follow the lead of St. Augustine and others who saw Nature and the Bible as two “books” through which we learn about God. The class will offer an overview of a century of discoveries in science and a consideration of how this knowledge can transform classic views of God and God’s relationship with creation (which have been influenced by earlier discoveries in science) and provide an emerging theology of God in the 21st Century that embraces science (but not scientism) and Scripture (but not fundamentalism).”
