Patchogue and PJ Chambers join in going to a Ducks Game. Fun night of networking and baseball!
$30 includes your ticket to the game, lite refreshments and our own
'party deck'. Limited amount of tickets so RSVP soon. P
arking is free and takes place in the
courthouse across the street from the ballpark. The game starts at 6:35 so the ballpark gates open at 5:35 and the matchup is Long Island Ducks vs. York Revolution. The party deck is located down the 3rd base line in left field and our group has exclusive use of the area!!

| LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT |
April Showers bring May flowers, well we should then have BOUQUETS at this point with ALL this rain, but everything is so nicely colored green! The Chamber moves forward preparing for the 'high' season of tourists and visitors coming to our Village. Spring was the jumping off point for the Chamber's 10th annual Health & Wellness Fest, a successful collaboration with the Royal Educational Foundation and their fun run. In May we teamed up with our restaurant community to produce the first 'Port Jefferson Happy Hour'. Sixteen different venues participated in providing live music with food and beverage specials. So well attended, the event has been expanded as a series: one Thursday a month from now until October.
The Chamber continues to play a strong role within our community and sponsored Meet the Candidate Night for the PJ Village elections. An important task that had over 200 concerned residents and participants that attended to hear from the mayoral and trustee candidates and their responses to issues within the Village.
We look forward to the summer, warm weather and 2 major networking events the Chamber is involved with. Both in cooperation with three other chambers: 3-Village, Smithtown, and Patchogue, see listings under upcoming chamber meetings for details. Great opportunities for networking and socializing with our chamber business colleagues. Please join us all and bring your business cards.

Kilwins in Port Jefferson had a fantastic Valentine's day business wise, selling over 75 pounds of chocolate covered strawberries. They are a proud member of the Port Jefferson Chamber of commerce and look forward to serving all residents and visitors. Listen to their interview at:

Congratulations to Joey Zangrillo owner of Z-Pita for receiving 'Tikkun Olam' award given out by Temple Isaiah in Stony Brook. Awards presentation was done May 18th at the Temple.
Tikkun olam is a Hebrew phrase that means "repairing the world" which suggests humanity's shared responsibility to heal, repair and transform the world. Joey 'Z' has been a generous supporter to Temple Isaiah and service to the community.

The old Brewology has closed and the new business is going to be the Port Bistro Pub, Chamber Partners (owners of Yogo Delish too) Bob & Christine Nyholn will be the new operators, they look to open before July 4th!
The Pro Port Restaurant Group donated a check for $500 to the Hope House Ministries at their general meeting April 22nd at the Fifth Season Restaurant. Money was from their proceeds from their successful crawls. Look for a new music program sponsored by this group, a continuation of the successful Port Jefferson Happy Hour. Scheduled dates are:
Starting with June 13th and continuing for these dates: July 25th, Aug 8th, Sept 12th, & Oct. 10th.
The Chamber was asked by the International Association for Literary Journalism Studies to provide a walking tour of the Village, especially the showing historic homes. Barbara Ransome Director of Operation shared the Village with about 15 journalists from all parts of the world-France, Brazil, Australia, Vienna, Mexico, Poland, and Austria on a very windy day. The walk included E. Broadway, E. Main Street, Thompson Street, High Street and then back to E. Main Street. Tour took about one hour and the Chamber receives a very nice thank you letter.
Congratulations to our Chamber Partner the LI Explorium in have such a great Makers Faire! Weather was perfect and the displays and exhibits were so engaging and fun!!
Don't forget if you want to walk in the 4thof July parade with the Chamber you are ALL welcome, family, friends and members. Wear your red, white and blue and join in with the festivities! Once again the 'Wholly Brass Band' will be joining us to help celebrate our independence. So join in solidarity and commemorating of country's birthday!!! Call the chamber to lets us know!

WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON!!!

A lot!! The end of winter and now spring the Chamber has been busy!
To recap:
- February 26th we welcomed our new BOD at Chamber Partner-at the LI Explorium Children's Museum.
- April 21st Easter Parade and Easter Egg Hunt- 4,000 eggs, 350 pieces of chocolate give out!
- April 30th we honored Tess Son as PJ Chamber member of the year. Reception sponsored by the Brookhaven chambers of Commerce Coalition, held at Chamber Partner- Willow Creek Golf & Country Club. Over 200 attendees representing 16 chambers!
- March 23rd was the second breakfast crawl sponsored by the Pro-Port Restaurant Group and the Chamber. Another huge success with a total of 348 tickets purchased!
- May 18th was our 10th Health and Wellness Fest. Over 55 vendors, Super Heroes, face painting, goat yoga, line dancing, Zumba, Lot s of fun, partnered with the Royal Education 2K Fun Run! Side-walk sale days sponsored by our umbrella group the PJ Retailers!
- May 16th First time event sponsored by the Pro-Port Restaurant Group. 16 venues all contributing live music and food & drink specials. Very successful and well attended!
- May 25th The dedication of the 1845 bell of the steamship the Rip van Winkle. Donated by Chamber Partner George Wallis owner of the Steamroom and the Roger's Frigate.
