Oak Grove's Small Groups

Dear Oak Grove Family & Friends,

As I spend time in West Virginia with our youth mission team this week, I am reminded of the impact and importance of intergenerational ministry. Working with Oak Grove’s team in a community setting has been a powerful reminder of the importance of feeling safe in the communities that we are a part of.

As a faith community, Oak Grove is committed to creating a safe and welcoming place where people can gather and grow in their faith. Part of this commitment is managing access to the building thoughtfully and responsibly.

Over the years, keys to our building have been distributed by various people for maintenance, ministry events, staff, volunteers, and outside organizations. As a result, we no longer have complete records of who has access to our building. To strengthen security and maintain the trust of our community, we’re implementing a streamlined key management process that includes rekeying the building and implementing background checks for all keyholders.

Important Dates:

Week of August 16: all interior and exterior doors will be rekeyed.

Monday, August 24: All existing proximity cards will be deactivated.

Getting Your New Key:

1. Please complete the key application using the link below.

2. Authorize a background check through the application (if we have a current background check on file for you, we do not need a new one)

3. Submit a one-time $20 fee to cover the cost of the background check using the link in the application. If the $20 fee presents a hardship, please contact Pastor Amanda.

If you have questions or concerns, we encourage you to attend Heard It Through The Grapevine on August 6th at 6pm when Pastor Amanda and church leaders will be available to answer questions. We will be serving dinner, so please RSVP to the office at office1@oakgroveumc.org.

Thank you for your commitment to keeping Oak Grove a safe and welcoming place where people grow in their relationship with Jesus.

May your day be filled with grace upon grace,

Oak Grove’s Security Ministry Team (Tammy Ennis, Michele Bright, Brian Ali, Brian Woolover, and Pastor Amanda)
