A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

“Celebrating 35 Years of Care, Collaboration, Support and Service”

In 2015, The Hopi Foundation renewed its vision for the next 50 years with the intention towards blossoming into what we’re meant to be, as an organization, while embracing and honoring our own strengths. We are committed to working toward helping our community mature toward a healthy, unified Hopi people and revitalizing independence on our own terms.

This month at our 35th Annual Meeting we heard our origin story once again from Founding Member Doran Dalton (Corn Clan from the village of Hotevilla) and our programs reported on how we work toward these intentions by reporting to the community on the financial health and sustainability of its programs, and most importantly, what impact the programs are making toward our founding vision of Loma’suminangwtukwsiwmani, growing the aspiration of unity blossoming into full maturity over time. Our closing statement by Board leadership Paul Kabotie (Badger Clan from Santa Clara) reflecting on the mission of this work was inspiring and a great reminder to those of us committed to this work that we are investing in long term change. We will make this video report available online through social media in case you missed this important event!

I hope you enjoy our 2 nd quarterly newsletter with highlights and updates to the activities of the Foundation’s diverse programming and find ways to engage in this work on behalf of the community.

Askwali um itamuy unangwtavya! Nu oovi haalayti itam naama it mongvasyaq, itam soosoyam nukwangwtukwsiwmakyangw ö’qalmani!
