From Russia comes the sad news that Galina Prozumenschikova has passed away at the age of 66. More:

The International Masters Swimming Masters logo Hall of Fame (IMSHOF) is proud to announce the names of seven outstanding individuals who will be inducted at the annual ceremony to be held on  Friday evening, October 2nd, 2015, at the Marriott Downtown, in Kansas City, MO, in conjunction with the  United States Aquatic Sports XXXVI Convention. The prestigious IMSHOF class of 2015 includes four swimmers ( Mieko Nagaoka, Shoko Yonezawa, David Radcliff, Jack Groselle), one diver ( Anielle Claverstyne Plowman), one synchronized swimmer (Penny Demeules) and one contributor ( Nancy Ridout), from three different countries: the USA, Australia, and Japan. In Kazan, ISHOF Selection Committee Chairman Camillo Cametti (ITA) and ISHOF staff  liaison Ivonne Schmid, met with over 20 members of the Committee to discuss the nomination and voting process for the Class of 2016. ISHOF's Exhibit and Swimwear 
Fashion Show in FINA Park

Kazan's FINA Water World Park  welcomed over 300,000 visitors. The International Swimming Hall of Fame organized a daily fashion show, with suits from our historic collection: "From Bloomers to Bikinis" on the big FINA stage. ISHOF also loaned a unique collection of medals from the 1980 Olympics, boycotted by the USA, and '84 Olympics, boycotted by the USSR to FINA's exhibit pavilion. Read more:

ISHOF's de Varona and Ellis Recognized As Leaders by USA Swimming and Speedo
ISHOF Chair of the Board, Donna de Varona and Board Member Jim Ellis have been named to the USA Swimming/Speedo List of the 30 Most Influential People In Swimming Over the Past 30 Years.    Also making the list are 10 Hall of Fame Honorees:    Matt Biondi, Peter Daland, Janet Evans, Rowdy Gaines, Dick Pound, Richard Quick, Eddie Reese, Mark Schubert, Nick Thierry and John Urbanchek.  Read more:

NEW AQUISITIONS
The archives of George Whitten and 
the Whitten Pool Company,
 builders of the White House pool and the 1984 Olympic pool. Among the most interesting pieces are the tiles selected by Betty Ford for the out-door pool at the White House. A big thank you to Mary Scoff for a priceless donation to our collection.

Incredible silk scarf from the 1950 Sam Snyder Water Follies and original Follies programs. A great addition to the Hall of Fame's Aquacade/Water Show collection.

RECENT  VISITORS

Doug Russell, 1968 Olympic gold medalist in the 100m butterfly and 1984 ISHOF Honoree, visited the Hall of Fame with his team from Dallas Texas.  



Ben Hooper made the trip from his training site in Key West to visit the Hall of Fame before he embarks on a swim from Dakar Senegal to Brazil later this year.  To learn more about the swim click here: 


Carlo Giron, son of  Mexican Honor Diver, Carlos Giron. Despite the similarity of his name, he was not named after his father, but after Italian Honor Coach, Carlo Dibiasi, the father and coach of his great rival, Klaus Dibiasi.

Still incredible, Marion Washburn, ISHOF's staff librarian since the 1970's, shown cataloging and boxing up materials that will soon be moved to storage.
