That was the inspiration for leaders of the City to contact us several years ago and now his wish will soon become a reality.  With a bright future assured, you can help make swimming history by renewing or joining ISHOF as a member.  Your support will help us while we await the completion of our new home in Santa Clara.  If you join or renew at the $50 or more level, you will receive a $25 dollar gift card for SWIMOUTLET.COM, one of our great corporate partners.  To  learn more about ISHOF membership  and  to register electronically,  click here :

2015 ISHOF Lifetime Achievement Award
Greta Andersen

One of the greatest swimmers of all time,  Greta Andersen burst on the world's stage when she won the gold medal for the 100 m freestyle at the 1948 London Olympics. Julie Checkoway: The Three Year Swim Club

In her new book, Julie Checkoway brings to life one of the
most remarkable "LOST" stories in athletic, Olympic and Swimming history.  Bruce Wigo and Hall of Famer Steve Clark had a chance to meet the author and highly recommend it.

Karlyn Pipes: The Do Over - My Journey from the Depths of Addiction to World Champion Swimmer

From the time she first stepped onto the starting blocks, Karlyn Pipes seemed destined for Olympic medals, Wheaties boxes, and greatness. Brimming with talent and coached by two-time Olympic gold medalist Mike Troy, she had the potential to be the best. But unable to keep up with the expectations, she turned her back on the sport and replaced the liquid of the pool with that of the bottle.

The ISHOF VAULT (store room) is loaded with incredible artifacts that need to be recycled.  In 1971, when Apollo 15 "splashed down" after visiting the moon, 1964 Olympic gold medalist Fred Schmidt (on Right) a Navy Frogman, was there to welcome Commander  Dave Scott, also an All-American swimmer, back to earth. Look for a new exhibit featuring the "Aqua Lung" frogman equipment Fred donated to ISHOF.
