MCA: Mentor - Connect - Advocate
May 6, 2015
|
Greetings from the MCA!
As we approach our October Annual Meeting, we are seeking volunteers and nominees for four positions on the National Executive Committee and one on the Finance Committee for terms ending in 2018.
Rotating off the NEC are David DeDonato (USA-Ret), Marvin Mills (VA & USA-Ret), Jeffrey Saville (USN) and Robert Hicks (USAF). Since Ch. Hicks was appointed to fill an unexpired term, he is eligible for election to a full term.
Rotating off the Finance Committee is Jan McCormack (USAF). In addition to a successor for her, Joanne Martindale (USA; appointed to an unexpired term) will be eligible for the term ending in 2017.
Your have a very energetic and engaged National Executive Committee working with other committed members to develop important new work for the MCA. However, that work cannot be fruitful without additional funds. It's time for all of us to get serious about our financial support of our common ministry to mentor, connect, and advocate for chaplaincy. From membership renewal to advertising our car donation program, every one of us needs to participate - associate members, chaplain members and life members - in at least one of the opportunities listed in the left column. We simply cannot speak for chaplaincy in the VA or armed forces without funds to do our work. This is not just about money ... it's about serving our chaplains and the men and women they in turn serve.
Robert G. Certain
Ch, Col, USAFR (Ret)
Executive Director

If you are a
young chaplain
, publishing your articles can be an excellent way to enhance your resume for the future. If you are a
senior chaplain
, you articles will share your experience, strength, and wisdom with others. If you are retired, your experience of transition and civilian life can give hope beyond the uniform. If you work with the
Department of Veterans Affairs or have
veterans ministries in your congregation
, that work can give others ideas about improving their own ministries. And, if you're with the
CAP
, we all want to know more about your experience.
The MCA provides two opportunities for members to publish their articles and books, and we seriously desire your writing! Submit your articles for publication on issues and concerns facing chaplains in and out of federal service:
