Biking in Cape May
If you plan to bring your own bikes this summer, we have plenty of room in the garage to store them. And if you don't want to bother packing your bikes, we have complimentary beach cruisers and bike locks for you to use during your stay. Either way, Cape May is a great biking town. It's extremely flat with lots of side streets to explore, and beautiful historic buildings to see.

To help you make your ride safe and interesting, check out these Cape May biking resources:
Photo of the Month
The month of May is a popular time for birds to visit Cape May during their spring migration. And, as a result, it is also a popular time for birders to visit! That means early morning "to go" breakfast bags and stories of rare bird sightings around the table in the afternoon. This beautiful photo was captured by our guests Ruth and Gary from Allentown, PA, during their spring birding stay. For all of you amateur ornithologists out there, this is a black-crowned night-heron.
New Beach Bags are Here!
Our new beach bags just arrived for the summer season and yours is waiting for you in your room. Keeping with the color trend from our spring decorations, we chose a teal color for this year's bags. They are the perfect size for carrying your belongings to and from the beach this summer. Fill yours with beach towels, sunscreen, snacks, and a good book for the perfect day at the beach. Use your bag during your Cape May stay and then take it home to use over and over again.
The Perfect Wedding or Anniversary Gift
Are you searching for the perfect gift for that upcoming wedding or anniversary? Consider a gift certificate from The Mission Inn. Treat the bride and groom to a Cape May getaway so they can fall in love with America's oldest seaside resort at the most romantic inn. For each gift certificate with a $300 value or more purchased this summer we will throw in a complimentary bottle of champagne and locally made chocolate truffles! We can mail yours out today or we can send out an e-certificate for a last minute gift. Our gift certificates can be purchased in any amount and are valid for two years.
Give us a call at 800-800-8380 to order one today.

Cape May Music Festival
This spring the Cape May Music Festival celebrated its 30th anniversary of bringing a variety of classical, chamber, jazz, and other types of music to audiences around town. As music fans, we support live music all year by attending performances, hosting house concerts, and sponsoring musical events. As part of the Music Festival, we sponsored an acapella singing group called the Cat's Pajamas . They put on a great show for a full house at Convention Hall.

Before the show, we snapped this photo with the leaders of the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC). Tom Carroll, the president of MAC, and Michael Zuckerman, the director of MAC presented us with a plaque for our sponsorship of the show. Thanks to them for sharing the photo and for their ongoing commitment to live music!

On a related note, we will be announcing the schedule for our third season of the Music at The Mission house concert series next month - stay tuned! We have some exciting shows coming up this fall.
New Puzzle: Fisherman's Jetty
We love puzzles and are happy to announce that we've acquired a new puzzle perfect for the summer season. From our friends at Liberty Puzzles, based in Boulder, Colorado, "Fisherman's Jetty" is based on an oil painting by artist Leon Morrocco.

Inspired by his time in Antibes, France on the Côte d'Azur, Leon paints in bright, vibrant colors making this 468 piece puzzle both fun and challenging.

When you stay at The Mission Inn we provide you with a daily list of activities going on around Cape May during your stay including live music, festivals, tours, and special events. Cape May Inn -Sider Tip:
Looking for something special to do one night during your stay? Then consider planning a simple picnic dinner on the beach. Pick up some delicious snacks from Seaside Cheese, and a loaf of fresh-baked bread from the Bread Lady. Or maybe get takeout from any of our local eateries or sandwich shops. Then grab two chairs from the garage along with your favorite bottle of wine, and head over to the beach for a quiet and relaxing evening. While everyone else is battling the downtown crowds for dinner, you can have the beach to yourself, a enjoy a delicious dinner with your toes in the sand, listen to the sound of the ocean as your soundtrack, and see an amazing Cape May sunset!
