Picture of the Month
Cape May sunsets are amazing any time of year - even upside down! This photo was taken at The Cove beach located at the end of the promenade using something called a lens ball. To see more amazing pictures taken with this cool photography tool, click here to check out Instagram posts with the hashtag #lensball. If you are inspired to try this technique, you can pick your own lens ball up on Amazon for under $20!

Out and About in Cape May
Last weekend we celebrated Saint Patrick's Day with some beautiful early spring weather and a few Irish beverages downtown. Our guests Veronica and Frank D. from West Caldwell, NJ, were enjoying happy hour at Fin's Bar on Sunday when it was invaded by a parade of bagpipers!

Once the Irish music ended, Frank snapped this photo of Veronica with the head piper, called the "Drum Major". She was enamored with the shiny baton he was carrying!
Did you know that the baton carried by the leader of a bagpipe brigade has an official name?
Scroll down to the bottom of the newsletter to see the answer.
Music at The Mission
We have just three more house concerts this season! Next up this weekend is The Chivalrous Crickets, a Celtic trio from New York, which is already SOLD OUT! We can't wait to hear their songs and stories around the legend of Robin Hood.

If you don't already have your tickets reserved for The Chivalrous Crickets, you can email us at info@missioninn.net to be added to the wait list for this show. No promises, but we sometimes get last minute cancelations.

We still have a few tickets available for the last two shows in this season's incredible house concert lineup - RSVP today for a chance to be part of an intimate music experience filled with songs and stories. Check out the rest of our schedule and reserve your tickets before our final two shows sell out as well!

Things to do in Cape May This Spring
Cape May offers a variety of things for visitors to do throughout the spring season. In addition to shopping in our eclectic downtown stores, browsing our antique centers, taking a trolley ride, walking the area's nature trails, and enjoying our award-winning local wineries, breweries, and distilleries, check out some of these special events coming up on the calendar:

With a tip of our Irish cap, we'll wrap up the March newsletter with an update about Cape May's booming craft beer scene. The Cape May Brewing Company will celebrate its eight-year anniversary this June, and many of our guests have made a pilgrimage to their location in the Cape May Airport. But did you know that there are now seven micro-breweries within 15-20 minutes of the inn? Next time you're in town, schedule an Uber and take a road trip to try a few out!
Trivia Question Answer:
The leader of a bagpipe brigade is called the drum major, and the baton that he carries is called a "mace". It is used to keep time and signal directions to the brigade during a parade.
