Remind patients to continue COVID-19 precautions, free marketing materials available
As COVID-19 cases rise again in Michigan, it's important to remind people to continue to take precautions against the spread of the virus.

Providers play an important role in continuing to educate and remind patients that their help is still needed to stop the growing surge in positive COVID-19 cases and hospitals admissions. Those vaccinated against COVID-19 also need to use caution. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to provide updated clinical resources for posting in practices and sharing with patients.

The CDC created a Vaccinate with Confidence toolkit to help providers encourage patients and others to get the COVID-19 vaccine. There are a lot of helpful tips, including conversation starters and a slide deck for informing and building confidence in healthcare teams.
Easily access community resources for patients
The Physician Alliance members have access
to a great electronic directory of local community
organization information. NowPow, a secure, HIPAA compliant, vetted database, helps address patients’ social determinants of health needs.

The user-friendly electronic database allows practices to share community resources based upon a patient’s zip code location. Resources can be provided to patients through printed copies, email or text messages. Patient health information is neither stored nor used in NowPow.

Access to the database is available at no-cost to TPA practices. Complete this registration form to get started.

New or currently registered users can learn more about using NowPow at an upcoming training session (see upcoming dates below). This webinar will explore how to use the NowPow Service Directory in the Services tab and eRx tab. Practices will also learn how to share resources with patients.

What are your patients saying about you?
Patient reviews are the single most effective bit of marketing you can do for your practice…only YOU can’t do anything. Your patients have to spread the good word about your practice for you.

You can be the greatest clinician in the country but if a new prospective patient goes online and sees that you only have a 3-star rating, it could shatter your credibility and the likelihood of that patient walking through your doors.
Online reviews have developed that type of power. The influence of online reviews is at an all-time high and the rates of these reviews helping to shape a decision are continuing to grow. High review scores and a large volume of reviews are now the price of admission. Patients are becoming dismissive of healthcare services with bad reviews or no reviews at all.
These reviews are so important to patients for many reasons:
  1. Validates the quality of care in your practice
  2. Social sharing – they are getting this information from their most trusted resources - peers, family, and friends
  3. It gives them control over their healthcare “shopping” experience when looking for new doctors
Managing online reviews across all of the available online platforms available can be a challenge. The ultimate goal is to grow the volume of positive reviews, manage the negative reviews, and ensure that all reviews are AUTHENTIC and GENUINE. They need to come from real patients with real experiences.
Whether you know about it or not, your patients are talking about you online…shouldn’t you be a part of that conversation?
