Michigan tries to fight COVID-19 with new guidelines/resources
COVID-19 cases are on the rise again across the country, including Michigan. The state is averaging more than 6,000 positive cases a day for the past week, with over 250,000 confirmed cases and more than 8,000 deaths.

With this alarming trend, the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services issued an emergency epidemic order beginning Nov. 18 and lasting through Dec. 8, 2020. This order includes gatherings, business restrictions and mask guidelines. Click here for a fact sheet of the epidemic order.

Tracking app available for public:
Michigan also created a COVID Alert app. This free app alerts users who may have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus; lets users track any symptoms and get advice on how to protect themselves and others; and anonymously warn other app users if they were in close contact with someone testing positive for coronavirus. No GPS, location information or personal identifiers are collected or shared.

Testing sites and test processing labs:
Michigan continues to add testing sites for the public to receive COVID-19 tests - click here to search for testing sites.

Vaccine trials continue:
Vaccine trials continue to advance through several manufacturers. Local health systems are participating in vaccine trials. For updates on vaccine trials and news, please view the "Latest healthcare news" section below.
