News from The Sharing Shelf
collects new and gently used clothing for infants, youth and teens then distributes that clothing to local children in need at no cost. The children we serve receive a week's worth of seasonally appropriate clothing matched to their sizing needs.
We are Growing!
We are pleased to announce the official opening of our newly expanded 4,300 square foot warehouse. Join us as we come together as a community to help break the cycle of poverty and help keep children safe, warm and in school where they can learn and thrive by providing them with clean, appropriate clothing.

The Sharing Shelf succeeds because of ongoing community involvement. Join us today as a volunteer and a donor.
Fall 2019 - Get involved!
Bring the joy of shopping to low-income teen girls and give them the opportunity to choose a new wardrobe. You can help them feel good about themselves and boost their self-esteem.

Teen Boutique takes place Saturday, November 16th at the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle (BGCNR) in partnership with the Junior League of Westchester on the Sound and the BGCNR.
For weekday or Saturday volunteering in November:

Evening Hours - November 6 and 12, 2019:

Indoor Sidewalk Sale, Sunday November 15th

We will be holding an indoor sidewalk sale to benefit the BGCNR and The Sharing Shelf on Sunday, November 17th from 11am - 3pm. Volunteers will help run this event. This is an excellent opportunity for troops and students to earn community service hours.

Volunteers Needed
The Sharing Shelf is participating in Westchester County's Zero Waste Day. We will be collecting donations of fall and winter clothing. Collins' Brothers Moving and Storage has generously donated a truck and driver.

We need 20-30 volunteers throughout the day to accept and sort donations. This is an excellent opportunity for teens to earn community service hours. We welcome volunteers 10 years and older. All volunteers ages 10-14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We also need 2 pop-up tents in case of inclement weather. If you have a tent we can use, please email Deborah Blatt, Program Director .

Help The Sharing Shelf provide new socks and new underwear

It's hard to believe but many families struggle to afford these basics for their children, something each of us puts on each morning as we prepare for the day. We strive to include both new socks and new underwear for each child we help. We need your help.

Thank you to college student Margaret Mitchell and the New Rochelle Federation of United School Employees (FUSE) who donated in October.

CONSIGN'D FOR A CAUSE
We actively collect your gently used bridge and designer adult clothing. We are looking for brands from AG, Theory, Vince and Joie through Alice + Olivia, DVF, Ermenegildo Zegna, Prada and Jimmy Choo.

These donations help pay our rent and make sure that we can continue clothing local children in need. We donate items that we cannot use to local nonprofits serving low income men and women.

Please make sure your donations are in clean, wearable condition with no rips, stains or tears.

Please bring in your donations separately bagged and labeled
"Consign'd for a Cause."
