A Spring Unlike Any Other
The Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival has been cancelled for the first time in its 47-year history (for us, this will be the first time in about 25 years that we haven't been there), and the opening of the Downtown Westminster Farmers Market in mid-May is also in question. But, don't despair -- we will be selling plants directly from the farm this year! If you want, you can email your order ahead of time, and we can bring them directly to your car when you arrive. You are also welcome to come browse through the greenhouse. We will be limiting the number of people in the greenhouse at one time, but there is plenty of room to wait outside at appropriate social distances.

Greenhouse hours will be 9:00-5:00 daily beginning May 1, or call to make other arrangements. Sorry, no shipping available.
We have started 43 varieties of tomatoes (including 7 plum tomatoes and 11 cherry tomatoes), 22 varieties of hot peppers, 14 varieties of sweet peppers, 9 varieties of basil, 9 varieties of eggplant, plus parsley, catnip, tomatillos, Sweet Annie, and nasturtiums.

The complete list of varieties is available on our website at http://www.thornefarm.com/list-of-2020-plant-varieties.

If you are a visual person, you’ll want to check out our Pinterest board, which has pictures of each variety. You can also click through to read the seed catalog descriptions.

All of our plants are started from untreated, non-GMO seed only. They are grown in an organic, compost-based potting mix and are fertilized with organic fertilizers & kelp. No synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, ever.
