Town Announces Appointment of New Town Manager

The Town Council of the Town of Yucca Valley is pleased to announce the unanimous appointment of Mr. Curtis Yakimow as Yucca Valley's new Town Manager.   Effective July 15th, Mr. Yakimow became the Town's sixth Town Manager since incorporation.

"We are pleased to have Mr. Yakimow as our new Town Manager, and feel that with his substantial experience in public service, knowledge of our Town's issues and priorities, and effective communication skills, he will continue to lead our Town in the right direction, " said Mayor Robert Lombardo.

After the appointment, Yakimow expressed his gratitude in the appointment saying, "I am grateful for the confidence the Council has placed in me to lead this organization. We are blessed with having a talented team of employees, and it will be a privilege to work side by side with them in delivering quality of life programs and services to this community."

Mr. Yakimow brings many years of experience in local city and agency government having served in technical and management positions with the Inland Empire Utilities Agency, the Monte Vista Water District, and the Town of Yucca Valley. Yakimow has served as the Town's Director of Administrative Services since joining the Town in 2005, with the additional duties of Community Services Director as of 2013. In addition to his public sector experience, Mr. Yakimow worked in all aspects of private sector retail for over 12 years. Mr. Yakimow holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business Administration, and is a California native and long-time resident of the Morongo Basin where he and his wife and children remain active in local schools, sports, and other activities. 

In related actions, the Town Council unanimously approved a three-year employment agreement with Mr. Yakimow at an annual base salary of $149,500.
