Message from Tri-Bay President
Hello Mark ,
As we put half of 2023 behind us and look forward to the remainder of 2023, I would like to remind everyone that we all have a choice as to whether we will contribute and focus on the positive or lament the negative. There is another dangerous path we can take, and that is ambivalence.
No one can deny the fact that our world is not only continuing to change in ways most of us could never have imagined but also changing in ways that seemingly tear at the very fabric of humanity. But on the other side of that coin of change are discoveries and breakthroughs that fire the imaginations of our future generations.
- Gun violence
- Political conflict
- Moral conflict
- War
- Impending war
- Poverty
- Hunger
- Environmental questions
And many other issues point to disunity and self-centered behaviors. And they said the '80s was the "me" decade. Well, history does repeat itself. We can focus on these things and add to the disruptive ambient noise by posting on social media, blaming others, becoming lemmings, and following the side we choose to listen to and tune out everything else or not.
We can wake up in the morning and see the world from another perspective. We can ask, "What can I do today to contribute positively to someone else's life?" I can allow others to have their beliefs without getting angry at them. So far, I have not found a rule book for life that says there is only one way or the right way to go through it.
First, I must make sure I see the one thing every human being has in common, which makes us all equal. We are all human beings, and no human being is better than or less than another. My mind will remain closed until I see the world from that perspective. For unity, empathy, respect, and kindness to exist, we must have face-to-face contact (not on a screen). The further we move away from human-to-human interaction, the easier it is to become more self-centered and disrespectful toward one another.
While collaboration on a screen works in many circumstances and may even be necessary, the human experience is the most stimulating and beneficial when we interact in person. It fosters creativity, imagination, camaraderie, empathy, respect, kindness, and a host of other affirmative reactions that are absent in a flat, two-dimensional realm.
Without human contact and interaction, it is easy for me to become ambivalent about the mass shootings, human rights abuses covered up with money, war, racism, lying by politicians and media, poverty, and hunger.
Cheers as we continue to
celebrate our 10th Anniversary!

PRIORITIZING DEDICATION, RESPONSIBILITY, AND
INTEGRITY IN BUSINESS
| |
If we told you about a company that embodies the following characteristics and consistently delivers top-quality work, how would you describe them in just two words?
- Dedication
- Disciplined
- Productive
- Dependable
- Responsible
- Fosters Teamwork
- Professional
- Integrity
We would say that the company has a work ethic.
Do you, personally, and the company you work for fit this description?
Typically, the companies that possess these qualities employ individuals who live by these principles and surround themselves with others who have the same. Unfortunately, what is more common, it seems, are individuals and businesses that are apathetic, unprofessional, procrastinate, miss deadlines, make excuses, have negative outlooks, and do not own their errors but rather blame others. With this type of environment in the business world, day-to-day operations and activities become more challenging for businesses with solid work ethics.
It would be easy to surrender to this condition. The old "if you can't beat them, join them" cliché rears its head. Battling this attitude is another quality of a strong work ethic.
This environment fosters creativity, innovation, improved communication skills, and proactive action for many. Surrendering to apathy makes the problem worse. No matter how difficult, perseverance brings rewards.
| | |
The reward is not always immediate, and one often experiences frustration, disappointment, and delays before attaining it. Ultimately, the payoff is the retention of reputation, personal satisfaction, client satisfaction, and the discovery of new relationships with those who share that strong work ethic. Maintaining a work ethic also can identify those who are not like-minded.
It might be worth asking ourselves (and perhaps doing so regularly): Is there value in the following?
- Having a solid work ethic?
- Being honest?
- Owning your mistakes?
- Being on time?
- Doing what you say you will do?
- Acting professionally?
- Looking professional?
- Doing things right because it is the right thing to do?
- Maintaining quality even when no one is looking?
We believe these actions have unparalleled value for our clients and each of us individually.
Clients will receive quality work and speak positively of their experience with us (priceless). Upon completion, we will depart with a sense of accomplishment and pride in our work, assured that we credit our team members for the project without any regrets or concerns. The next question that may arise is, "Well, how much are these things worth?" Only the individual can provide an answer to that. The reality is that maintaining these qualities in today's environment does cost more. Does the Iron Triangle of Business, good, fast, and cheap, exist?

CHEP Innovation Center
CHEP asked us if we could accomplish a remodel before their international visitors arrived. We delivered the materials and subcontractors required on short notice to achieve this goal.
We provided 2,500 SF of new flooring, including upgrading the restrooms with new floor, new wall tile and new Partitions, and re-painted the public space of their Innovation Center in Orlando. The bright new space was ready in time for their visitors!
Despite current supply chain issues and busy schedules, our subcontractors collaborated and made this project happen by working and scheduling together quickly and efficiently. We not only solved and overcame some minor hiccups along the way, but we also installed additional items within the original budget.
