APRIL 2018

We've got a FULL newsletter this month with lots of great information about deals, business changes and construction. And don't miss out on the coupon at the bottom of the page!
Spring & Summer hours start April 15th!!
Open Sundays 12-5pm & Wednesday until 7pm

We're excited to announce we have granted the most common wish of our customers since I took over 5 years ago...open for more hours!! We are debuting our spring & summer hours starting April 15th with the following additions, which will be in effect until the end of August.
  • Additional Open Store Hours:
    Wednesdays until 7:00 pm
    Sundays 12:00 - 5:00 pm
  • Consignment hours will remain Tuesday - Saturday 11:00 am - 5:45 pm for walk-ins with up to 30 items. If you have over 30 items please call to make an appointment, which are scheduled primarily on Wednesdays & Thursdays. We many take some appointments Sunday depending on demand.
  • Picking up consignment checks: The change in hours also requires a shift in my own working hours. In addition I will have some time off in the spring & summer. Since I am the sole check signer, if you want to pick up a check please contact us ahead of time to be sure I will be available. If you come to the store and I am not available, I will mail the check to you the next day I am at the store. I will continue to automatically mail your consignment check within a week of your consignment expiration date if that is the option you chose.
  • Holiday Hours: Sunday hours will be impacted by holidays more than our regular schedule, so please be sure to check our hours before making a trip on a holiday weekend (Memorial Day, 4th of July). The most reliable place to check is on our website. I also update Google, Yelp when possible, in the newsletter and on our voicemail.

They weddinggowns are new with tags and will be prices at 50% off retail! All gowns range from size 16W  to 26W. For consignment, we are now taking capris, sandals and all spring items. We have plenty of room for linen pieces and light cotton is always a favorite as well. Shorts will be taken in May & June only, with the exception of swim or athletic shorts which we will take now.
Neighborhood Construction Update
Vulcan construction has started and 23rd Avenue coming soon.
The construction blanketing Seattle has made its way to our corner(s)! The Vulcan project at 23rd & Jackson has begun, with tear-down complete and digging on its way. In addition, SDOT has street improvement projects on both the 23rd Avenue Corridor from Jackson Street to Rainier Avenue and on S Jackson Street between 20th & MLK Jr Way starting in May.

I will do my best to keep you updated on the construction and any impact on travel and parking in our neighborhood. Updates and links will be available on our website. In general it is best to travel on MLK Jr Way when possible. Coming from the freeway and driving east on Jackson Street should remain open, although there may be temporary impacts. In the meantime, this is what I currently know:
  • There are have been some one-lane closures on Jackson Street on the weekends which are supposed to continue for 1-2 more weeks.
  • There will be some restricted parking on 25th Ave S next to our building. Remember we have a parking lot behind our store!! After blanket "no parking" signs went up last week, I have negotiated with the construction company to ONLY restrict parking when they have trucks planning to use the street (not every day) and to limit use on Saturday. Even if you see the no parking signs, check the dates to see if it safe to park.
  • Bus routes #4 and #48 will be detoured for a year due to the 23rd Ave Project. Find out more information on the Metro website
I know navigating through construction can be a pain and I hope you will continue to support us through these changes. Find out more about the Vulcan Project at 23jackson.com. I will also be receiving monthly construction bulletins so should have more information as it comes. Visit SDOT to find out more about the 23rd Avenue Corridor Improvements and the S. Jackson St Corridor Improvements projects.
Thanks for making it to the end!
Hope to see you soon, Lisa
