The Southeastern Team Reducing the Impacts of Diesel Emissions (STRIDE) Collaborative Virtual Partners Meeting/ Conference (formerly Southeast Diesel Collaborative Partners Meeting) began on September 15 with presentations on freight. EPA Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) Overview and Volkswagen DERA Option Webinar: September 24
Includes National, State, School Bus Rebates and Tribal Volkswagen Settlement DERA Option

This DERA 101 webinar, planned for September 24, will include an overview of the Diesel Emission Reduction Act (DERA) funding programs. From 2008-2018, a total of 152 Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) grants have been awarded to port specific projects, totaling $148 million.  An additional $66 million were awarded through DERA to multi-sector projects that involve ports. The webinar includes the following.
  • National, State and Tribal Grants and School Bus Rebate components presented by EPA staff;
  • Use of VW settlement funds presented by a representative from the Institute of Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP); and
  • Presentations from two grant recipients on their DERA project experiences, including the grant process, project implementation, use of VW funds (if applicable), and lessons learned.
