ARE YOU READY TO BECOME A MEMBER?
If you’ve been attending UUCH long enough to know that this church community feels like your spiritual home, you may be ready to take the next step and become a member of this congregation.
On April 20th (Easter Sunday) Rev. Ruth plans to welcome new members as they “sign the book” and officially join our church. If you are ready to become a member or would like to find out more about the process, please contact Pam Korb at membership@uuch.org by April 1st.
RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEMBERSHIP:
Because we are a democratic community, members are collectively vested with responsibility for the congregation. Members may vote at all congregational meetings, be elected to the governing Board, be appointed as committee chairs, and participate in all activities of the congregation.
Because we are a covenanted congregation, members have certain responsibilities to the congregation and to each other. These responsibilities are best fulfilled by:
- Regular attendance at worship
- Voting at congregational meetings
- Making financial contributions
- Contributing time and talent
- Spiritual growth and development

Another Great Property Day
Thank you to everyone who came out to our last property clean-up day. We finished preserving the playground structure, we scratch-coated all the pews in the sanctuary, we did lots more pressure washing, prepared the safety rail for the garden, did lots of fence line clean up brush and trash removal on the north end of the property, hung part of the Edison lighting, and made other great progress on the new patio memorial garden. Special thank you to all these hard-working people: Brad Korb, Melodie Brier, Ralph Massey, Natalie Euley, Paul Wieland, Khoe Tran, LaDawn Edwards, Sandy Moore, Linda Lamity, Darlene Patten, Steve Schneefuss, Ward Welty, Howard Williams, Gail Williams, and our Property chair, Wayne Schorer.
Our next property work day is April 5th. If you have some time availability on weekdays and would like to help in a small group, please contact Melodie Brier at financialadv103@gmail.com.

Local Hispanic Families Need Our Help!
UUCH has been partnering with the Alabama Hispanic Association (AHA) since 2014. The AHA works with low-income Hispanic immigrants in the Huntsville area to help them become productive members of society. We have learned from the AHA leadership that several of the families are now suffering due to the recent Trump administration policies.
UUCH Social Justice has offered to help out these families and we need your help. The families need food, clothing for the children, and support for rent and utilities. If you are able to help out, you can donate funds in one of three ways:
- Go to uuch.org, select Donate, Online Giving, New Gift, and enter an amount under “AL Hispanic Association”
- Mail or bring a check to church made out to UUCH with “AHA” in the memo line
- Put cash in the offering basket inside an envelope marked for “AHA”
If you wish to provide material donations of food and/or clothing, please email Brad at social.justice@uuch.org.

Easter Egg Hunt
Easter Egg Hunt at UUCH!
Rain or Shine, you and your family are invited to spend Easter Sunday afternoon with your fellow UUs in a day of relaxation and fun while welcoming the beginning of spring.
What: Easter egg hunt

Eggs for the hunt
Goodies (finger foods) to share for munching
Lawn chairs and musical instruments
Fun for everyone. No children? No problem. We’re EGG-cited! We will be HOPPY to see you!
This event is sponsored by children and youth RE and Hospitality as an all-church activity. All are welcome! Help with cleanup will be greatly appriciated.

Circle of Candles
John Sims Jeter lit a candle of Sorrow: "Alan Naslund, my sister's ex-husband, died in Louisville, Kentucky. He suffered from COPP and died in Hospice care."
Jes Zelaya lit a candle of Sorrow: "My Grandmother passed away last Wednesday. She was very close to me and will be greatly missed."
LaDawn Edwards lit a candle of Joy: "After nearly a year of waiting, applying, and appealing, my brother has received word that the Veteran's Administration will award him disability payment, health benefits, and other services. We are extremely relieved and grateful for this generous government assistance."
Jen and Cliff Parry lit a candle of Sorrow: "Cliff lost his uncle, Frank Rosenberg, to an aneurysm. He was 67 years old, a husband, father of 6, and 9 grandkids."
Kathy Fisher lit a candle of Joy: "I'm so happy Doak was at service this Sunday. Our wedding will be at UUCH on October 18th at 2PM, you're all invited!"
Amanda Payne lit a candle of Joy: "Thank you to everyone that called, texted, emailed, sent cards, gift cards, or donated in some way. My family thanks you all from the bottom of our hearts. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts as we begin our search for temporary housing."

Little Food Pantry
Many of our neighbors and many unhoused people visit our LFP frequently. Consider buying a few extra cans of soup or veggies to contribute! For suggestions of what to donate (and what not to donate), check out this list: Pantry Food Items. Remember that many families don’t have the experience or the equipment to handle dried beans, and that the unhoused particularly benefit from cans that don’t require can openers. A little help from us can go a long way Please, if you are able to fill it up, note your name in the Sign-Up Genius. Also, you can bring non- perishables to church, as there are baskets. A big thank you to all who do contribute!
