This Week in Children's

and Youth's Religious Education (CYRE)

This is our fourth and final week of exploring The Practice of Joy. So far, we have explored how joy can be found in foolishness, music, and hard times. Today, we turn to how joy can be found in nature, with a special nod to Earth Day. When we focus on Earth Day, we often focus on how we can save the Earth. In this session, we explore the other side of the coin, focusing on how Earth can save us with its deep and simple joys. To help us get at that, we will be taking inspiration from the well-loved and widely-used sayings, “Stop and smell the roses!” and “Nature is the best medicine.”

The Youth will be leading service this Sunday!

You're invited to First Friday May! This month we will be planting flowers to celebrate spring! As usual food and drinks are provided, so bring yourself and if you wish a side or sweet treat to share. This will be our last First Friday for the 2024-2025 school year so come out and have fun! We will resume First Fridays in September.

I wish and hope the very best for this amazing congregation! UUism is needed now more than ever. You are well positioned to continue making a positive difference in your community. Don't underestimate your collective power to help repair our broken world!

In hope and gratitude,

Rev Ruth

Little Food Pantry

Many of our neighbors and many unhoused people visit our LFP frequently. Consider buying a few extra cans of soup or veggies to contribute! For suggestions of what to donate (and what not to donate), check out this list: Pantry Food Items. Remember that many families don’t have the experience or the equipment to handle dried beans, and that the unhoused particularly benefit from cans that don’t require can openers. A little help from us can go a long way Please, if you are able to fill it up, note your name in the Sign-Up Genius. Also, you can bring non- perishables to church, as there are baskets. A big thank you to all who do contribute!
