"Gotta Keep on Moving Forward"
Rev. Jaimie Dingus
10:45 AM
What does it take to chart a new course? How do we embrace what’s possible and build something new? What do we have to put down and let go of in order to start? This week we will begin a larger community conversation about mission and vision as we imagine all that will be possible for our congregation in the coming months and years!

“New UU” Class
October 16th and October 23rd
10:00 AM – 11:45 AM
What does it mean to be a Unitarian Universalist? Join Rev. Jaimie, the Adult Religious Education Committee, and the Membership Committee as we offer a two-part series that explores important themes in UU congregational life.
We will discuss our worship and theology, history, covenant and polity, faith development, social justice, and membership. This program is particularly focused on introducing newcomers to UUCH, but those of you who have been here for a while will also be able to share and connect with others as we explore our own beliefs and how they intersect with the UU tradition. Everyone is welcome!
Mark your calendars now for the Saturday mornings of October 16th and 23rd at 10:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. for this chance to learn, share, and be together. We will meet via Zoom, and we ask people to register to prepare for the number of participants. Contact Adult.RE@uuch.org to register or if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!

Donating by Text or Online
Our e-giving partner, Vanco is migrating to a new mobile app - “Vanco Mobile”. After September 30, giving with the GivePlus+ app will no longer be supported. To continue giving with a mobile app, download the Vanco Mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play to your mobile device and follow the instructions here. If you have already set up a login for GivePlus+, it will work on Vanco Mobile.

Care List
This Sunday at Our Circle of Candles:
Barbara Hitt (she/her) lit a candle of gratitude: For the Care Committee members who are helping Cheri following her eye surgery this week. Thanks to Eleanor Schweinsberg, LaDawn Edwards, Nancy Pettus, Gail Williams, Jo Broussard, Tim Miller, and Barbara Hitt.
Emily VanValkenburg lit a candle of sorrow: In memory of Ms. Ilene Stewart Sparks. Ilene’s life ended one year ago tomorrow. Wednesday will mark the centennial of her birth. Those 99 years in between were indeed remarkable!
Kathy Fisher lit a candle of joy: Happy Birthday this past week to two of the many Robs in my life, my son-in-law and my son! Both loved so deeply.
Sarah Miklavic-Kinley (she/her) lit a candle of joy: So glad and proud of my daughter in recovery who had a good clean fun time at homecoming last night and didn’t partake in anything else that was happening around her!
Rev. Erin Walter (she/her) lit a candle of gratitude: For our family who helped us move to a new home this week, and for the nature of our new surroundings.
LaDawn Edwards lit a candle of concern: Terri Gordy, a dear friend in Iowa, is having radiation treatments for endometrial cancer. She asked for prayers and healing thoughts, so please help me send healing energy to Iowa City.
Demi VanderWerff lit candles of gratitude, joy & concern: Giving thanks for the joy of a lovely Yom Kippur, and a new start in September. The joy of good health as I recover from laryngitis. And, to ask for healing for my best friend Marianthi as she goes through trouble in remission.
