Justice Committe
e's goal is to collect and donate 100+ items per month for the food pantry. CAN you pick up an extra CANNED good, nonperishable food item, or personal care product next time you are out shopping? Please do, and put it in the basket in the church foyer to be donated to the Huntsville Assistance Program (HAP).
Suggested donations:
macaroni and cheese, pasta and sauce, dry beans and rice, boxes of cereal, bars of soap, canned meat, and peanut butter!

UUkulele Fun Group will meet through the summer!
The UUkulele Fun Group will continue to meet every
2nd and 4th Wednesday from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. to enjoy ukulele playing. This group is for all levels of familiarity with the ukulele - from the "very beginner" to more "seasoned" players. We have a new song book to share that has lively songs we can all play together. So come make a little music with us.

Adventure!!

Drive up and back on July 29 (Saturday) or camp at beautiful Chilhowee Campground in the Cherokee National Forest.
Raft EITHER the Ocoee (class III and IV, ages 12+) or the family-friendly Hiwassee (class II, all ages) or swim in the lake at the campground or just hang out in the beautiful woods.

Duffel Bags for
Foster Care Children
Our Girl Scout Troop 10507 and the UUCH Social Justice Committee are joining forces with Girl Scout Troop 10341 of North Central Alabama to fill
100 duffel bags for foster care children.
Most children enter foster care with nothing but the clothes on their back because the social workers cannot wait for them to pack.
Madison County alone has 15-20 new children enter foster care
every month. We want to help the children in foster care by giving them some of the things they may need.
With your help, we can make a difference! Starting July 9, there will be a box in the UUCH Fellowship Hall collecting new item donations to fill the duffle bags. These items can be for boys or girls, ages infant to 18, and of all races. Here is the list of items needed by the children in foster care:
- Blankets
- All kinds of toiletries (combs, brushes, shampoo, deodorant, conditioner, soap, body wash, hygiene products for teenage girls, lotion, etc.)
- Hair accessories for girls/all ages
- Ball caps for boys
- Diapers, bib, baby toys, pacifiers, wipes, bottles
- Books
- Makeup
- Shaving supplies
- Socks, underwear
- Puzzles, crayons
- Pajamas
It is tough being a child in foster care. We are trying to make it a little easier through the Duffel Bag Project. We appreciate anything you can contribute. No donation is too small.

The UUCH choir will reconvene for the new church year on
Wednesday, August 2nd at 7:15pm in the choir room. We will be figuring out sections (soprano, alto, tenor, bass), assigning folders and music for the first half of the season, and reaffirming our joyful connection with each other and our mission of enriching the lives of the congregation through music. Whether you know how to sing or would like to learn, we would love for you to join us!
