QICPCW Wraps Up Strategic Planning Sessions

The National Quality Improvement Center on the Privatization of Child Welfare Services (QICPCW) held its final convening of states on May 24 - 25, 2011 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Five states, out of 18 who applied, were selected to participate in a two-day Public/Private Partnership Strategic Planning Session: Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina, Texas and Washington State. Each state invited 10 public and private child welfare agency leaders who were willing and able to make the decisions about the future of their partnership.

No matter where each state started, each state left with a detailed strategic plan with specific tasks, responsible parties and dates assigned.  It was impressive to see the commitment, dedication and energy within each group. Having experienced this in the three QIC demonstration sites: Florida, Illinois and Missouri, Program Director, Jennifer Hall, knows that it takes all three to endure making the necessary changes in the child welfare system.
