Upper Makefield Remains in PA Stay-at-Home Red Phase

Although an increasing number of counties have been shifted to the yellow phase, Bucks County remains under the red phase of the State's Stay-at-Home Order as described on the Pennsylvania COVID-19 webpages .

Upper Makefield Township officials are following orders and guidance from State and County officials. Please view Bucks County’s COVID-19 webpage for details, resources and data.

  • Police and Emergency Management services continue to fully operate. In the event of an emergency, dial 9-1-1. For non-emergency police matters during business hours, call 215-968-3020. For non-emergencies at other times, call 215-598-7121.

  • Township facilities, including playgrounds, tennis courts, bathrooms, and pavilions are closed until further notice. Despite park amenities being closed, Township and Bucks County parks and walking paths are open. Please continue practicing appropriate social distancing and masking recommendations.
Township offices remain closed to walk-in visitors, but you may call or email officials, who are working both at the Township building and from home. You'll find department contact information on the  Staff Directory . Please check our website for any changes to Township operations.

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) offers practical advice if you think you are sick or you are caring for a person who is sick with COVID-19. Instructions for making cloth face coverings are available here .

On behalf of our Township officials and residents, we offer heartfelt thanks to members of our Upper Makefield Police Department; Upper Makefield and Lingohocken Fire Companies; our ambulance company, St. Mary Emergency Medical Services; and all essential workers for their dedication to our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Permitting During COVID-19 Pandemic

Although the Township building is currently closed to the public, Township staff is committed to providing permit processing for homeowners and contractors. We are reviewing applications, issuing permits, and performing inspections at this time. All permit applicants are required to provide written acknowledgement that compliance with the PA Guidance for Businesses in the Construction Industry will be maintained. The acknowledgement form and the PA Guidance information will be provided to applicants. 
Permit applications are available on the Township website. Please complete the applications and email them along with any plans to the Township. Staff will review and advise via email of any additional items that are needed. Payment for permits can be made by credit card after the review process is complete. For submission of special projects or plans larger than 11" x 17", the rear door of the Township building will be open Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for no-contact drop off. Tax Filing Deadlines Extended

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, tax filing deadlines by federal, state, and local governments have been extended.

Primary Election moved to June 2, 2020

Your vote matters. Due to COVID-19, Gov. Tom Wolf rescheduled Pennsylvania’s Primary Election to June 2. Registered voters have an option to vote by mail-in ballot rather than going to a polling place on election day. Mail-in ballot applications will be accepted at the Bucks County Elections Office through Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
