Fire Company Open Houses

October is Fire Prevention Month and you are invited to family-friendly open houses hosted by Upper Makefield Fire Company and Lingohocken Fire Company. Learn what your volunteer fire companies train for and do for your safety.

This year’s theme is “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!”   People of all ages can learn and teach fire escape plans and practices. It’s more important than ever to prepare a plan and practice it twice a year because today’s home construction materials and open space designs contribute to an increased burn rate. Remember to include smoke alarms and meeting spots as part of your plan. Read more about fire safety and prevention on the Township website .

Upper Makefield Fire Company serves most of Upper Makefield and Lingohocken Fire Company serves a small portion of the Township. We encourage you to visit and consider contributing time or a donation to our dedicated volunteer fire companies.
