Welcome to the June issue of the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce newsletter. 

Please keep the Chamber office updated with any changes in your business. 
We especially want to know if you have moved locations, have a new email if there`s a new contact person etc. Email is the main communication tool we use so please make sure we have yours.

We have recently sent out notices to members that are past due. It is important to keep up to date on your membership in order to take part in the advantages. If you would like more information on what the chamber can do for you, please feel free to contact Lorraine or Caitlin at the office.

As a member of the Chamber there is an opportunity for you to host a Business After Hours event. Here are some tips on making your event a success.

Welcome to New Members: 
The following businesses/organizations have recently joined the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce.

2015 Relay for Life/Petawawa 
The Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce entered a team in the 2015 Relay for Life at Garrison Petawawa on Friday June 5th. The weather might have started out raining last Friday but cleared in time for us to take the track.

Cancer is personal to us as our Executive Director Lorraine MacKenzie battled it in 2013. 

Thank you to all who donated to our team members, our team raised approximately $3000.  The Relay for Life Petawawa raised $165,000.

HGS Ten Year Anniversary Celebration 
HGS will be holding their 10 Year anniversary Celebration on Saturday June 13th. 

There will be a FREE carnival and BBQ for the entire community with free activities for all ages.

Ottawa Valley Tourist Association
Customer Service Workshop- June 24, 8am-12:30pm
1/2 day Customer Service Workshop for front-line staff, provided by the Delfi Group. Topics covered will include: quality, service & professionalism; customer expectations; first impressions; memorable service & marketing; handling hostility; and moments of truth.

Ottawa Valley Tourism Trade Show- 
June 24th 12pm-8pm
Location: Pembroke Mall
The primary focus of this event is to educate staff across all sectors on the tourism experiences and products available in the Ottawa Valley. A great Spin off of this event is the opportunity to educate Ottawa Valley residents about the tourism offerings in their backyard. Our local residents can be some of our greatest customers and tourism ambassadors.

New United Way Collaboration
United Ways of Prescott-Russell, Ottawa
, Lanark and Renfrew Counties are collaborating, in efforts to deliver greater results to their communities. Collectively they will be able to engage more donors, advocates and volunteers to better serve their regions. 

Keeping Pembroke Beautiful Seeks Sponsor s
The beautiful City of Pembroke has been recognized for its efforts at the provincial, national and international Communities in Bloom program.  Although we are not officially registered we still want to engage sponsors in "Keeping Pembroke Beautiful".
