PARKING LOT MINISTRY

You have an opportunity to serve and make a positive impression on those who come to UUMC through our new ministry - The Parking Lot Ministry Team!  Worship begins in the parking lot.  Our Parking Lot Ministry Team influences every person who drives onto our church lot. To our regular attenders and members, they are the first to extend a warm, friendly greeting. To our guests, they are a very important first impression of our church.  The Parking Lot Ministry at UUMC will exist to make a safer, more convenient place for people to fellowship and visit.  Please contact Doug Lugar for more information and to sign-up to volunteer!  His cell number is 614-554-7482 or home number 740-892-3042. You can also email him at [email protected] . The Parking Lot Ministry began March 24th!!"

EASTER FLOWERS

Once again, Lent brings the opportunity to purchase Spring flowers which will adorn the Sanctuary on Easter morning, and also can be used as a gift to remember a loved one or honor someone special to you. The flowers are Easter Lilies ($8.00), Regal Geraniums ($8.00), Easter Mums ($9.00), or Tropical Hibiscus ($14.00). Each of these plants is in a 6" pot and you have your choice of several colors. Orders must be placed and paid for no later than TODAY, Sunday, April 7th. You can place your order by entering it on the order sheet on the table in the back of the Sanctuary.
CHILDREN'S EASTER MUSICAL

This Easter Season the children will be presenting an Easter Musical "It's All Because of Jesus" on Easter morning.  Practice begins today at 8:30 am in the Sanctuary and continues in the Under the Sea Room following the Children's message during the worship service.  There will be no KidZone through Easter (April 21st ) due to practice.  Sunday School classes for Preschool through 5th Grade students will not meet on April 7th and April 14th.

LENTEN LUNCHES

MOMENTS WITH MARK #229

Growing up my parents had a rule about new foods.  We had to at least try (taste) the things that were on the
table for a particular meal.  Most of the time, I liked the food after I tasted it.  Some of it I liked a lot!  Once in a while, I hoped to never eat a few things ever again!  Back in 1972, there was an Alka-Seltzer commercial with the catch phrase, "Try it, you'll like it."  That's true with a lot of things in life, especially when it comes to God.  In
Psalm 34:8 NLT; David gives an invitation to give God a try.  "Taste and see that the Lord is good.  Oh, the joys
of those who take refuge in Him!"  Some things you can't understand without experiencing them, and God is one of those!  We can describe Him or read about Him, but we must experience Him to get the full effect!
The more we experience God and his goodness, the more of Him we'll want.  In real life, I compare it to eating chocolate.  The more I eat, the more I want!  We discover His goodness by getting to know Him.  We take action (taste) and we get the results (seeing).  We get a "taste" of God through worship, prayer, reading his word, small groups, and serving others.  Living the life of a Christian is just like eating those chocolates.  Each experience (each piece) just gets better and better!  We'll experience His goodness in ways we could never have imagined once we try the Christian experience.  You have to experience it for yourself to know what I'm talking about.
"God can do anything, you know--far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!" (Ephesians 3:20 MSG)  Don't take my word for it!  Taste and see!
