Moments with Mark #196
Depending on the source you research, there are between 3,000 and 8,000 promises in God's word.  What that means for the believer is God covers every situation and circumstance we might face in life with a promise!  We can speak and pray these promises over our situation!
"For every problem in life, God has given us a promise.  Make it your aim to get so acquainted with these promises that you can write yourself a prescription." (Max Lucado)  God's word also provides us with confidence relative to the many promises of God. "For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between 'Yes' and 'No.'  He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God's ultimate 'Yes,' He always does what he says.  For all of God's promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding 'Yes!'  And through Christ, our 'Amen' (which means 'Yes') ascends to God for his glory."  (2Corinthians 1:19-20 NLT)
In simple terms, we can trust God to do what He says He will do! He is faithful to his word!  These promises are rock-solid commitments made by God himself.  We need to trust and believe!  It is His good pleasure to give us His kingdom!
