Thank you to all who have volunteered to work at the festival. We still need 1 or 2 to help on the Sat. 4-7 shift and Mon 1-4 shift. There are 2 in each shift but 3 or 4 makes it easier during busy times. Call Pat at 740-892-3815 if you can help. Thanks!

Copy of message from Sandra Nihiser to Margaret Bowman regarding Aileen
I Just spoke with Aileen and the news is WONDERFUL!!!! A
ll is well with a blood count that is UP. A good sign and there will be no
more checkups for 6 (SIX) weeks !!!!!
Aileen reports that she is still a bit weak, but expects more recovery time
will correct that.
Once again she has asked me to express her profound THANKS for cards,
prayers, good thoughts, calls and over-all support, plus Redskin backing
(the last came from me).
Our next goal is Aileen's July report and her 93rd Birthday on July 29th.

Pastor Jason asked me to pass along the good news he had from Nancy Wolfe regarding her tests for her cancer scare. It was a false alarm!!! Let's all share Nancy's good news and be thankful that it turned out so well.

TWELVE MONTHS OF GIVING
|

The Events Committee continues Twelve Month of Giving, sponsoring and collecting items for Utica's food pantry. Each month the pantry volunteers
let us know what is most needed. Please place your donations in the bin upstairs or downstairs by the door. We will collect your donations at the church
and deliver them to the pantry.
Items Needed for the Month of May:
CANNED PASTA, PEANUT BUTTER and TOILET PAPER
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have,
for
such
sacrifices are pleasing to God. Hebrews 13:16

Most Christians are aware that "nothing is impossible with God." He can do "exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ask or imagine." Even so, God is not a Genie whose wish is our command. God is not our quick way to comfort or our pathway to an easy life. There are a lot of things we'll have to deal with while we're here on earth. Yes, there will be many moments of great joy and achievement but also times of struggle and pain.
Jesus promised: "Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." (John 16:33 NLT) We shouldn't be surprised by trouble, and it doesn't have to overwhelm us. The solution is TRUST! Jesus wants us to trust Him! He wants us to depend on Him completely! He has never offered complete protection from future trouble. Life may bring us to it, but God will get us through it!
