My Friends,
This Sunday, November 1, is special in so many ways; an opportunity for us to experience what it means to share in the Priesthood of All Believers:
Communion Sunday: Our communion will follow the safety procedures we have established and ask those at home to have the elements present.
All Saints' Day: We will read the names of our members who died this past year and toll the bell in remembrance with a special anthem.
Congregational Meeting: We will respond to the recommendation of the Pastor Nominating Committee and vote on the call of our next Senior Pastor. And, as we do each fall, we will elect the leaders who will guide us through the coming year.
Our congregational meeting will be conducted in person in the sanctuary and through livestream after the 11:00 a.m. worship service. We will use Mentimeter, a secure, online voting tool recommended by Pittsburgh Presbytery, for voting. Read voting instructions here.
You can test Mentimeter beforehand to get comfortable with the application. Go to www.menti.com and use the code 43 12 16 7. Answer Yes or No to the question, “Do you like the Steelers?” and click “Submit.” This format will be used for all votes.
The candidate will preach at both services. The Pastor Nominating Committee will make their report and recommendation with Terms of Call at the meeting. Information about the candidate will be passed out in the sanctuary and will be sent by email to the congregation on Sunday morning prior to the meeting. This information is kept confidential until the meeting to protect the candidate who is in active ministry in a congregation.
Blessings,
Bruce Lancaster
Interim Senior Pastor
