My Friends,
I was on a canoe trip many years ago, and the sun was beginning to set. A beautiful sunset over the river, but the problem was we had not yet reached our access point for leaving the river. We could hear traffic, so we knew we were near. We would say, “It’s right around the next bend.” But when we paddled around that bend, there was another ‘next’ bend! I’m not sure how many bends there were before we pulled the canoe out just after dark.
That’s how I see where we are right now. Just when we think we’ve made it home, there’s another bend in our COVID river. We’ve come so far, and we’re doing so much, but there’s still more river to paddle.
I’m grateful for you and our staff who are in this Westminster canoe together. You are the ones Paul wrote about, “So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11, The Message)
Join us for worship this Sunday, September 20! Make a reservation and be with us in the sanctuary or connect through our website. No matter where we are, we are united as the one body of Christ as we worship together.
Grace and peace,
Bruce
